A Quick Breather -
Got the Red Star Ring atop the highest spot in ROOFTOP RUN Act 2 and reached the goal
This red star ring is on the final section of the level as you race forward chasing a ship and dodging lasers by using lb and rb to move left and right.
the exact location of the red star ring is on the final stretch on the far right immediately before the last jump that takes you to the end of level point and if missed can not be returned to and requires you to restart the level to get back to it.
To prevent having to repeat this level ensure once you are on the final stretch that you stay as far right as possible using rb and only moving when you absolutely have to dodge the lasers .

I'm not sure if you can upate your solution but here is a tip:
In case the person misses the red star, since its close to a jump before the final part, the player can let himself die by hitting every object and laser without picking up rings before hitting the finish line. So no need to restart the level :)

To get this Achievement you will need to obtain the Red Ring Star located in Rooftop RUN 2. Make sure to pick modern sonic for this one.
The Red Ring will be located at the last section of the level. The exact location is on the far right, right before the final jump that takes you to the end of the level.

At the end of the level during the running sequence stick to the right most side and that is where you'll get the Red Star Ring for this trophy.
