Secret Sleuth - 10g
Got the Red Star Ring located in the hidden room in SEASIDE HILL Act 1 and reached the goal.

Load up Act 1 of Seaside Hill. Very early in the level you will come to three red platforms with two jumping fish shortly beyond. You want to time your jump so that you hit one of the fish and make it to the next area. If you're having trouble making it up here like I was, try equipping one of the shields like the Aqua Shield, or Homing Attack if you have either unlocked.

Stay high up and quickly make it past the next few red platforms to reach a cannon. Continue forward, don't fall now! Soon you'll see two pillars shifting up and down. Stand on them and when they are at their lowest point, head left for a Red Ring and a 1-Up.

Just finish the level and the achievement will pop.

clearly not the right one, i followed this guide verbatim, no achievement.

Guide worked perfectly, actually happened on this red ring by accident and came to check if it was the one for the achievement. +1

Make sure you complete the level to unlock the trophy!

At the beginning of his stage as you make your way forward you will notice orange platforms, you must jump on them and from them jump to the platform ahead. This may be difficult but you can make it easier using the double jump effect from the Thunder Shield. Stay on the top most surface up until you have made your way to the cannon. The Cannon will launch you to the other side. Keep going up the top surface and pass the enemy will be two pillars moving up and down, go on the left pillar and once it goes down move to the left and next to a 1-up item box will be the Red Star Ring. This trophy will unlock at the end of the level.
