How to unlock the Walk on Air achievement in Sonic Generations - Definitive Guide
Walk on Air - 20G (Original Achievement)
Difficulty: 3/10
To get this Achievement, you must clear Sky Sanctuary, Act 1 without falling to your death.
The best method is to take your time and avoid as many wide open areas as possible. Be cautious on the green block platforms, as they fall from under your feet if you stand on them too long.

Pretty easy, but definitely missable. I had the hints mode on from the start of the game so any time a deadly fall was coming up I saw a big sign that warned me to be ready to jump or speed past it.

For this trophy you must clear SKY SANCTUARY Act 1 (Classic Sonic) without dying. When playing this you want to look out for unsupported green panels or glowing purple platforms as they will far after you step on them. A lot of people also die at the last rush at the end of the level when you are running around the pillar, if you feel as if you aren't going to make it in time simply try jumping at the end before the platform crumbles below you. This trophy will unlock at the end of the level.
