How to unlock the Walk on Water achievement in Sonic Generations - Definitive Guide
I know that Walk On Water only applies to Act 2, but I made a video covering both Acts, just in case you'd like to it as well for your own personal glory. :)
(That should be how it's done, anyway)
This is also(unless you die without restarting) a guaranteed way to get S Rank, to help you with Big Bang/Blue Comet/Blazing Meteor/Shooting Star/Bright Star, if you need it. This covers an alternate(and in my opinion, easier) way to get out of the rising pink water pit from the video above. You don't NEED the skills I've displayed in the video--they're just to show you what I'm using. Enjoy!

You sir, are a beast. That run in modern sonic was impressive. How did you pull off the spin right after the very first rail in the begining to hit the yellow ramp on the inside left? I'm sure its probably something simple but i've started playing seriously today.

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it. As for the spin, it's anything BUT simple. Only the lives counter is the only subtle tell, but I had to restart(because I missed)--DOZENS of times. On that recording, I had actually backed out of that level and loaded it up again, hoping that would help. Must've did something, because I've never been able to pull off most of those stunts! Using your hairpin turns is obviously very helpful, but it's the way you use them. Yes, you can pull your control stick as far to the left or right as you can--and that does help--but it's only about 40% of the trick. The other 60% is the timing. Gotta hit it at an appropriate moment. THAT'S why I went straight for the rail; it was one of my biggest guides--after dropping from the rail, wait half a second and then turn! It's a gamble, but it's usually beneficial either way!

To get this Achievement, you must clear Chemical Plant, Act 2 without ever touching the Purple Chemical Water.
There is a set path to follow that requires quick thinking and well aimed homing attacks. Below is a video of mine showing the path.

For this trophy you must clear CHEMICAL PLANT Act 2 (Modern Sonic) without making contact with the purple water. Here are the portions to keep in mind when going through the level:
- After the first checkpoint jump immediately and boost yourself to the top portion of the map, while taking that route you will land on weak platforms, jump off those platforms to the next until you see an enemy, jump and lock on to the enemy and then dash yourself to the next checkpoint ahead.
- After a skydiving sequence you will slide under some doors, after you are under those doors stop immediately and slow move forward and make sure you grind the rail to the other side. Boost on the ramp ahead and use a homing attack on the enemies above.
- After you launch yourself from the cannon and into the water slide try to stop immediately or at least make sure you can make it to the otherwise after it without falling down.
- After your next checkpoint make sure you jump and use homing attacks on the enemies in front of you to bring yourself to higher ground.
After this you should have nothing to worry about and you can finish the level, if you so happen to die after the last checkpoint you can still finish the level for your trophy. This trophy will unlock at the end of the level.
