Sonic & Knuckles

Scattered across most if not every level there are signposts with stars on them which, when crossed, make a noise and light up - if you have 20 rings on your person when you cross, you will see some stars flashing and rotating above it - jump into this to be warped into a bonus stage - alternatively if you come across a giant gold ring - jump into it to be warped to a special stage - either will net you the achievement.

There are 2 ways in which you can get this achievement.

Option 1: Scattered throughout the levels you play, there will be secret areas which will have a Giant Ring. Jump into the ring and you will be taken to the Special Stage.

Option 2: Find a checkpoint and have at least 20+ Rings in hand with you. Hit the checkpoint and you will get some stars spinning around in circles at the top of the checkpoint. Jump into the circles and you will be taken to the Bonus Stage.

Regardless of which method you choose, doing one of the above will earn you this achievement.

To get this Achievement, you must enter either a Special Stage (for a Chaos Emerald), or a Bonus Stage (for rings and shields).

The easiest way is using the Bonus Stage. Gather 20 Rings and run past a checkpoint (looks like a pole sitting out in the open, it will spin and ring when you run past it.) Once you run past it, stop and look above it. You will notice a ring of stars spinning around. Jump into these to gain access to the Bonus Stage and unlock your Achievement.

Alternatively, you can look through the zone and try to find a Special Stage. Special Stages are located inside of Giant Rings, which are usually hidden inside fake walls. If you happen to find one, simply jump inside the Giant Ring to gain access to the Special Stage, and get your Achievement.
