I found the best way to do this was to run to the first Star Post in Green Hill Act 1 then stop just before you run past it. Hold down and hammer to build up some momentum before releasing.
It took a few moments for the achievement to pop (right after I ran through the second Star Post).

Despite what the description says, I don't think it's a matter of grinding as I'd definitely run past way more than 10 Star Posts before it popped trying this method on a 'No Save' file.

This can be attained on the first act of Green Hill Zone.

Follow the route shown in the video to speed past 2 different Star Posts. Press Start then Exit when you get them and repeat the process 5 more times to unlock the achievement.

Most likely, this will be your first achievement.

You have to pass a checkpoint whilst traveling at a high velocity. If you would like to grind this, I recommend the tunnels in Green Hill Act 1. After the first loop, you will enter a tunnel which will propel you past a checkpoint and through a second tunnel.
