Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles, Anniversary Mode
On the title screen, enter the Stage Select cheat. Up, Up, Down, Down, Up, Up, Up, Up.
Go down to Sound Test and enter the Debug Mode cheat. Play these sounds in this order: 01, 09, 09, 04, 01, 00, 01, 08.
Go to any Zone.
Enter Debug Mode with X.
Cycle through with A until you find the Item Box.
Cycle through with B until you find Water Shield (water drop). Place with Y.
Cycle through with B until you find Fire Shield (flame). Place with Y.
Cycle through with B until you find Lightning Shield (lightning bolt). Place with Y.
Exit Debug Mode with X.
Break all 3 Item Boxes.
On the title screen, enter the Stage Select cheat. Up, Up, Down, Down, Up, Up, Up, Up.
Go down to Sound Test and enter the Debug Mode cheat. Play these sounds in this order: 01, 09, 09, 04, 01, 00, 01, 08.

doesnt work for me. BUT in the 2nd stage of the game, all shields are present. fly around in debug mode and collect them all. done

It is unlikely you won't come across at least one of each during regular play across all levels, but if you wanted to unlock it to get it out of the way early, this can be done within Angel Island Act 1; there is a Water Shield on the bottom route, a Lightning Shield on top of a loop accessed via a vertically moving platform to the right of it, and a Fire Shield towards the end of the act en route

You have to collect a water, fire and lightning shield. All of these appear in Angel Island. I found water and fire in the first part and had to progress to the part where the jungle is on fire to find a lightning shield. You can fly around in debug mode to find them easily. Refer to the roadmap for accessing debug mode.
Note that, which water and fire shields are easy to find using debug mode in Act 1, to access the second Act with a lightning shield, you'll need to exit debug mode in the rightmost area (you'll notice the level layout ends if you zoom too far to the right, which means you've gone too far). Exit debug in the rightmost rendered area to spawn a simple miniboss fight. It ends by setting the area on fire. Now you can go back into debug and head right to eventually find a lightning shield container (as well as many more fire shields) to complete this achievement. It'll unlock immediately.

There are 3 shield types you can find in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles. The Fire Shield which allows you to launch yourself forward as a ball of flame, the Water Shield which allows you to bounce and provides infinite air while underwater, and the Electric Shield which attracts nearby rings toward you and allows you to perform a double jump. These shields are found numerous times throughout the game so you should have no trouble obtaining this trophy naturally as you play through the game. Once you have collected each shield type at least once, you will earn this.
