How to unlock the Time Traveler achievement in Sonic Origins - Definitive Guide

This can be unlocked in the first level "Palm Tree Panic". You will see a sign early in that says "Future". Run through the sign and begin picking up speed. After a while you will begin to see sparks coming from behind Sonic and with enough speed you will go into the future

Sprinkled throughout the game are these signs that say "past" or "future." Once you hit one of these you sparkle for some time. During this time, you have to hit and sustain a certain speed to be teleported to either the past or future. You can find things in each level's alternate timelines to unlock the good ending, which however isn't needed for achievements. You just have to access a past or future version at any point of the game, which is easy enough and may even happen by accident.

Throughout the zones you will find signs for Future and Past. After passing a sign, if you can maintain a fast enough speed for long enough, you will travel through time. You will know you are going fast enough if large sparks start coming out from behind you. This will likely come naturally as many levels are designed so you will pass through a sign and maintain a fast speed to inevitably travel through time.
