How to unlock the BFFs achievement in SONIC UNLEASHED - Definitive Guide

For this, you need to feed Chip certain foods that he likes - you can pretty much guess that he likes sweet foods as opposed to fishy and spicy foods. Take note of his comments after feeding him though as he may say something useful in regards to what your feeding him.

Also I think also feeding him lots of Sundae Supremes from the shop in Apotos will work (around 10 if my memory serves me correct)

I only fed him 10 Sundae Supremes and the achievement unlocked. They're 60 rings a piece. Thanks for the info!

unlocked for me too only feeding him 10 on the sundaes. Clearly its something to do with them :P

Purchase the food that he likes and give them to Chip to eat. You can give them to Chip by selecting that particular piece of food from your inventory, and select the option "Give to Chip". He will react happily saying the food you gave him was delicious...or he will react with a "meh" and that tells you he hates the food. I recommend you get the Sundae Supreme which you can purchase from Apotos' store. Keep purchasing the item and keep giving the ice cream to Chip until the trophy unlocks.

To "become better friends with Chip" you just need to feed him food he likes (selecting the "Give to Chip" option in your inventory). An easy way to do with is to buy 10 or so Sundae Supremes from the shop Apotos and feed it to him. It will cost you 600 rings.
