For this achievement you must complete the Windmill Isle Act 2 as Sonic in 2m 35s.

My only suggestions would be to make sure you learn the map, when and where to jump etc.. it helps running through it slowly to learn the layout.

And secondly, wherever possible keep the X button pressed to A) go faster and B) to reach higher places using ramps etc... Everyone I know thinks the X button must be tapped to gain a speed boost but if you hold it down you can run twice as fast!


All being well, if you had very few slip ups, you should be able to get the achievement by getting an S ranking as sonic called "Getting the hang of things".

As soon as you hit the first group of rings, hold the X button to boost. You'll want to boost for almost all of the level. Just a few spots to remember:
Stick to the left at the beginning, and after the first robots, there will be a little bump in the path that will make you trip if you don't jump over it. Even if you hit it, it probably won't hurt your time too bad. (I hit it when I got the achivement)

After the triple rails part, be sure to jump into the boost ring. It'll shave off a couple seconds.

After the first ramp where you have to enter 3 button presses, the path will split. Stick to the left path, as the right path has 4 or 5 speed bumps that trip you.

Memorize where you need to press B to slide under a wall. If you hit the wall, you might want to just restart as it really slows you down.

Near the end, when you get off the last rail, there are 2 sets of spikes on the ground. Remember where they are and jump them.
