Quite the simple achievement that doesn't really need a guide. Once you are able to do so, hire a mercenary and in either a story mission or side quest (I got it via gong for a side quest) and when you are offered the chance to do so, hit the menu button to use your "hired gun" For me, it came up in a random attack on my way to a side mission in which I was also able to get a +1 on knocking opponents out of bounds.
