How to unlock the True Edge Master achievement in SOULCALIBUR VI - Definitive Guide
UPDATE:
Doing the below trick will easily pop the achievement, but prevent the following from popping later on:
Your save file needs to have 100 obtained Weapons on it for that achievement to pop later.
The initial Lv. 1 weapons DO NOT count for this achievement!
So the real total on your menu upon popping this achievement will be something like 115 weapons instead.
Simply go to the first town that sells weapons for 800 Gold each and buy until you don't have any money left.
If you are out of money and want to get more weapons without paying, you can grind out individual ones by doing Expedition random encounters. Be sure the look at the Rewards section of the screen before accepting the fight. If there is no ???, there will be no weapon drop. So quit out and try another Expedition. I found that almost every random encounter on the top-right of the map (going back and forth from top of Japan to top of inland continent) had a ??? (Weapon) reward.
------------------------
A trick to get the achievement and not waste any money!
This should be attempted near or after the end of the main Story Missions or when you have around 60,000 or more Gold (money).
Go to the first town that starts with D, on the beginning area of the map on the bottom right. Here there are weapons that cost 800 Gold only.
Now just buy the same weapon over and over by mashing the A button until the achievement pops.
DO NOT leave the menu or it might Auto Save!
Now DASHBOARD out of the game! When you return, all your Gold will still be there.
You can use this Gold to buy expensive Foods for hard fights/second playthrough.

Is this cumulative between the good and evil play through?

Duplicates are fine as far as I'm aware. I just bought all the weapons from each shop, accidentally twice on occasion. You'll also get plenty of weapons from expeditions or quests while going through the main story. You shouldn't have to go to far out of your way to get it. It's even more doable once you get the hefty amounts of money from the Astral Fissure Sealing missions later in the game.

I can confirm duplicates are fine.

Aside from the starting weapons (the ones that are already available as soon as you start Libra of Soul), every weapon counts, both earned and bought.
It won't matter if you obtain the same weapon a second or a third time or whatever.
So it's pretty straightforward: when you can spend around 80k gold, just go to the first town that sells weapons and then keep buying the first weapon available for 800 gold until you hit 100 and then the trophy unlocks.

You can buy weapons, the cheapest in the first city for 800. You can buy the same ones, there is no difference.

You will have a lot of battles in the “Scales of Spirit” mode (much more than 100), and for almost every one you will be given a weapon. So I don’t recommend spending money on buying low-power, useless weapons; the trophy will drop much earlier than you beat the game.

I don’t recommend following kazuma-2’s hint; after beating the game and even closing half of the rifts, I didn’t get a trophy even for 50 weapons, let alone a hundred. It’s better to just throw the save into the cloud/flash drive before purchasing and buy weapons in the first city for 800 rubles, after the treasured breakpoint, load the save. So the money will remain and the trophies will be splashed out.
