How to unlock the Champion achievement in SOULCALIBUR - Definitive Guide
I found the Ivy method frustrating on harder difficulties (mainly because I don't play with Ivy, and would get my butt handed to me frequently,) and impossible on easier difficulties (because the enemies wouldn't run up to you on the edge, leeching your valuable time.)
So I offer an alternate strategy.
Use Nightmare on the Easy difficulty.
Spam the Forward + Y pierce attack.
I got it on the first try, no rounds lost, well under the 4:00 threshold.

Thanks for this. I used Nightmare and got it in 3'21"70 with one accidental ring out lol.

Solution worked perfectly. Only info that I felt was missing was the number of opponents you fight. (there are 8 in Time Attack mode) Completed in 3'37"63 losing only one round to Inferno at the end so plenty room for improvement but a pretty comfortable time limit nonetheless.

I suggest using Siegfried and repeatedly use his Forward + Y attack to push the enemy off of the edge. If that doesn't work, try tossing the enemy around a bit with a grapple (A + X).
Fairly easy to do. Use Ivy and go to the edge of the ring and when you opponent comes towards you use her X+A grapple attack to throw them out of the ring.
