This is a accumulative achievement so even if you die you still get progress. You want to look for the station icons on the navigation and click 
on the question marks to see if any of them reveal stations.
Once you spot them go to it and make sure you have power to your communicator in order to activate the stop and let the passengers on board.
The starting ships can only hold 12 and any more than that will start damaging the ship over time. You could grab over 12 towards the end of the levels to make more progress.

That's a bummer @HoxB. You could try on a new save and try to get another 200. If you go that route you might not have to delete your other save hopefully.
