There is no in-game way to track this Achievement, but you can click into the game when viewing your Xbox profile and look at the “Stats” section (next to “Achievements”) to get more information. There is a section titled “Grunt Kills” in here, which is mostly accurate. My Achievement popped around 5,800 Grunt kills. My assumption is that “Grunts” are similar, but not the same as “Soldiers,” as listed in the Achievement description. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to get a clear understanding of the difference, or of what kills count and what don’t. The main thing is not to be concerned if it doesn’t pop exactly at 5,000 kills. For me, it popped immediately upon receiving the kill it counted as the “5,000th,” and I did not have to wait until the end of the match.

I found Hanging By a Thread and Low Blow to be the easiest levels to grind kills for this.
