How to unlock the Magnum Opus achievement in Sparklite - Definitive Guide

After update on Dec 2 this achievement can now be obtained.
Beats can be found after you beat the first boss in the Vineland. You get a little robot that when you hit rb can pull things out of the ground. The beats will be found in the ground, by killing enemies , in bushes and in snow balls. When you spawn into the world press your option button (select) button and go to your map and it will show you how many beats are in this world and the color...0/4.. If you don't have the ones you need end the game and restart and it will be randomized again. When you go on a new screen after killing the enemies stay there for a few seconds and you will hear a little music note and that will indicate a beat is hid on that screen. Turn up the volume!!

I would also try to get all 10 in one area before going to the next one unless It's one you need that you can't get to until you get the next special item to help you shrink..etc. Then I would go back in that area and focus on getting the 10 before moving on. It's all random. At least you have a counter. I did the majority before the update playing hours in each area to find nothing.

Read the comments below for extra info.

There are 55 beats total.
5 are found in town and can be found after you upgrade each area. 1 per color.
There are 5 areas with 10 each.

Golden wood area to east light blue
Vineland where you start green area has red beats
Ice world north has light purple beats
Desert area to the west has green beats
Acid level to the south has yellow beats.

If you have any questions just comment and I will try to reply.. May the force be with you!

Hi Chad

I'ma afraid I have an issue with this one because :
- I have the 10 yellow
- I have the 10 red
- I have the 10 blue
- I have the 10 purple
And I miss the last green (I have 9/10, from the desert part)

The problem is whatever I relaunch a new run, there is no more indication on the world map, like if I have all the Beats (No more 0/0 or 0/1 appears)

I'm completly disgusted........ :(

Any idea about that maybe ?

I wouldn't have either..but no one had finished it at the time and being the first one drove me to play it again.

Also have the issue with the last green not appearing on the map, so not sure if I could go find it or not...

I had to replay the whole game 3 times before I finally got them all. My last play thru I didn't go futher into the game until I got all 10 for that area. Have fun and bang your head against the wall.

When you finally got it, did the green beat appears on the map (counter)? Or did you just stumble on it?

It popped up on the counter.. when I seen it was in the world I went in each room and just waited after I killed everything. Then waited for the sound and the music note.. it seemed to pop up in rooms with 2 cracks in the floor. Usually the rooms with only one crack I couldn't find it but two in a room usually is where the beat came from.. hope that helps.

Right now I've only got one beat missing and it's green, restarted maybe 20 runs and have yet to see a counter. No counter or 0/0 displayed for a bit when I was missing I think four beats, I kept just starting and ending runs and then the beats and the counter displayed when one would be on the map somewhere.

I find it odd you yourself were running into issues with beats not spawning and took extra steps to insure they did on subsequent playthrough and yet did not include those steps in your guide? You only mentioned that you held off on going to the next area until all had been collected in the comments??

I added it in the solution. I'm just glad I'm done with this one.

Thanks Boogie

A new patch was release today and it fixed both the green beat issue and furnace issue for me! smile

Also to be noted, I had a glitch happen to me where I ended a run and it completely reset the final area for me. So next run I had to grab them all again.

some of these beats are under muck. You can't suck up the muck until after you beat the third boss. Don't panic, like I did, when you end up with 1 left in ea of the first 3 zones. They are under muck :P

Another tip: All 5 of the beats that appear on the floating Island sit on the small stands in front of the crowd after you collect them, so if one of them is bare, the beat your missing is on the Island (reset a bunch of times hoping to get one to spawn before I figured this out :P)

I ran into the same problem with the blue acid world. I had 8 of 10 and never could get 2 more..had to restart a whole nother game..I'm glad I'm done with this one..good luck.
The second playthrough. I just focused on getting all 10 before I went to the next area.

Thanks for the answer.
'was afraid of that...
Unfortunately, no time (and no motivation) to do another whole game... Loved this game... until it glitched me in the face in the last second of the last success... cry

GLITCHED

Beats are little singing creatures that are hidden all over the map. Most of them are hidden underground, which will require an upgrade for your robot companion but some will also be hidden under rocks or piles of snow. You should be able to identify when a Beat is hidden on your screen, because they'll make a sound and a small music note should drift out of their hiding spot.

Each Beat color represents a different area of the map but Beats are also hidden on the Refuge. Because the maps are procedurally generated, there are only going to be a set number of Beats each time you head down to the surface so finding them all is going to be a significant grind. Once you find all of the Beats for a particular area of the game, a flag will be visible where they all hang out on the Refuge.

As you find them, make sure to head to the top left corner of the Refuge and sit through listening to their song. Occasionally, you'll be rewarded with an upgrade that's definitely worth your time.
