How to unlock the Deer Hunter achievement in Spec Ops: The Line - Definitive Guide

About five minutes into Chapter 1, you will come to a bridge with a rappel line going down to the sand. Look right of the rappel line and you will notice some Oryx down there. Simply shoot one of them and the achievement is yours!

An oryx is an animal that looks a lot like a gazelle. Right in Chapter 1, after a small tutorial, before the very first time you are asked to rapple down, before actually rappelling, look over the edge and to the right. You will see a group of oryx standing around. Simply shoot one in head with one of your weapons. If you miss, they will run off, so be accurate.

It is also possible to get this achievement at the end of Chapter 10 - Part 2, when the truck crashes. After walking you will be given a pistol with one bullet in it. Leave your team mate to die, and take the pistol with you. At the end of the path, an oryx will be feeding on a dead body, just line up the shot and kill it.

Easy pickup in chapter 1. Just run from the begining and shoot the beasts before you go down the cliff. There are five of them there so it's pretty easy to take out one or two. I took out 4 in this video.

This achievement can be obtained within seconds of gaining control of your character for the first time. Simply run forward, turn right, jump over the barricade, and turn left. You will see some Oryx below you. Shoot one, and the achievement should unlock. Check out the video below for more info.

first level when you get to the part where you have to rope down. stop and look to your right and you will see some deer just below you. there will be three of them. pick one and shoot it

There are two opportunities to unlock this trophy in the campaign.

The first is in chapter one right before rappelling down. There is a small herd of these creatures to the right of the freeway. Open fire to kill them.

If you miss killing one in the first chapter, there is another chance in chapter eleven. Make the choice to save a bullet in the very beginning and proceed forward.
There will be a single oryx eating a dead body. Aim carefully and lay it out. Make sure not to miss as you only have a single bullet at this point.

SImple getable in the first chapter of the game.
At the part where you have to rapel down, dont and look to the right, the oryx are right there, kill one and it is yours. If you go down you have to be fast as they get startled and run off

This can be obtained a short way into the first level, just before you rappel down. When you reach the rappels, look down and to the right to see the Oryx. Shoot one of them before you go down as they get startled once you reach the bottom and make it more difficult. There are several other opportunities to get this through the campaign but this is the first and easiest.

Start up the first level. Very close to the beginning when you come to the point where you have to rappel down (before going down) look to the right of the freeway and there will be several oryx standing about halfway up the sand dune. You don't have to headshot, one shot generally brings it down. Don't know if they can be found anywhere else, but this is very close to the beginning of the chapter and easy to do.

There is one oryx in chapter 10 - don't shoot Riggs, save a bullet for animal, you'll see it near bodies.

There is a herd of oryx in 1 mission. Right after sliding down on a rope.

An oryx is an animal that looks a lot like a gazelle. Right after the tutorial in Chapter 1, you'll be prompted to rappel down the side of a bridge. As you get to this point, don't rappel but look down off the side to the right and you'll see a group of Onyx's.

To unlock this trophy all you have to do is upset PETA and for no real reason kill an Oryx. An Oryx is a large Antelope. You’ll have your chance to play Cabela’s Big Game Hunter right at the beginning of Chapter 1. You will come to a section where they want you to rappel down a cliff, but don’t rappel yet, first look to your right and over the edge. You’ll see a peaceful family of Oryx minding their own business; your objective is to murder one of these magnificent creatures. Pick out an innocent Oryx, shoot it and the trophy is yours.

If for some reason you missed the animals at the first location, then it’s not a problem! In the 10th chapter (after driving the tank), you will find a friend pinned down by a truck. He will ask you to shoot him. So, if you don’t shoot him (get the Unfriendly Fire trophy) and save the bullet. This bullet is just useful for hunting - the antelope will stand a little further (about 50 meters), do not come close, otherwise it will run away.

The second time an antelope is encountered in the game is at the very beginning of the 11th chapter called ALONE. Not in the 10th. Let your friend burn in the fire, save the bullet for the poor animal and get
