How to unlock the In Your Face achievement in Spec Ops: The Line - Definitive Guide

On Chapter 11, a character is being held at gunpoint in the center of a mall. You head upstairs and a cutscene will start. At the end of the brief cutscene there will be a barrier blocking the door that you must vault over. Just on the other side is a sniper. Line up your vault and when you jump you will kick him and send him over the railing. The achievement will pop instantly if done correctly.

The setup seems intentional, like the designers WANTED you to do this one here.

Also this description is spoiler free, so as not to ruin the story.

Don't understand the negative vote? This is exactly where I got it on my first playthrough. Like you say it's almost scripted so that you get it here it's that easy.

On chapter 4 after the hostage breaks free and rappels down. You follow him down and after a short while you are ambushed by 3 american soldiers, just kill these and proceed through the door. After going through the door there is a large window on the left which can be vaulted to get outside, just wait on the cover until another 2 soldiers stand on the other side. Once they are still and you have lined up your vault, hit B knock one of them over and instantly you have your achievement.

It's hard to get it there they are too far away, however after vaulting the wall/window if you run to the right past the first market stalls there's a market stall in the centre. run to cover behind it and a second later an enemy will cover the other side of it, press b to vault and you get him right in the face, bang cheevo.

In Chapter 2: In the beginning there is a grenades throwing training area. At first you kill two guys on lower grounds then yet another one under the stairs and then there are grenades. After you collect them jump over the railings and get into cover under the big jump-through window.

There stands (or will come to stand) insurgent which is probably in perfect position to kick in the face slow-mo style. I personally missed him by an inch but I would swear it's possible (unless you prove me wrong).

But I didn't give up. In this room there's a wide u-shaped table before an another jump-through window to the subsequent area. And behind it (and in a flames of raging fire) I found my kick-in-your-face-achievement-guy. And so can you.

In Chapter 1, you'll eventually reach a downed plane and have to go inside it. Once you go inside and climb the stairs, turn around and you'll see a guy hiding behind a thin piece of cover. Quickly take cover on the opposite side of this cover (the side closest to you) and when you and the enemy are essentially back to back on this piece of cover, press B to vault over and you'll automatically kick him in the face. If you mess up or he comes out of the cover, you can reload the checkpoint and you'll start back at the bottom of those stairs.

This trophy can easily be unlocked during Chapter 11: Alone, and difficulty does not matter. At the beginning of the chapter, you will go into a mall and up an escalator. Follow the path around, and you will be shown Lugo and Adams surrounded by soldiers on the other side.

Simply vault over the cover in front of you, knocking the soldier over the side. This can almost be considered story-related, however you can kill the solider without kicking him. If you somehow miss this, reload the checkpoint and try again, and if you forget and move passed this point, select this chapter in the chapter select.

If you leave negative feedback, please explain why so I can correct. Thanks!

This happens when you vault over cover (using ), and an enemy is on the other side of it. This will make your character kick the enemy. This may be hard to get on the harder difficulties as most of your battles will take place at range, but there are a few places you will be able to get it. You can always revisit chapters on lower difficulties once you beat the game.

A notable place to get this is during Chapter 10. There will be a cutscene where one of the bad guys has one of your partners at gun point. After the cutscene, go forward and you will see a soldier on the other side of a barricade with his back to you. Mount the barricade, press  to vault over, and you will kick him right over the edge. The level is set-up specifically for you to do this.

Vaulting over cover in this game works similarly to how it works in the Uncharted series (and pretty much every other third-person shooter). You can either take cover at a “chest high wall” by pressing , once you’re in cover and there is an enemy on the other side of your cover point press to vault the cover and kick the enemy. Or you can approach a chest high cover point and press to vault the cover and kick an enemy.

There are not many opportunities during campaign to get this trophy. When you do get an opportunity this move isn’t necessarily practical or particularly smart while playing on the higher difficulty settings, unless you feel like dying and restarting the checkpoint.

But one great place to get this trophy is during chapter 11. After a cut scene you will approach a balcony where your squad is being held captive. As you approach the balcony you’ll see some sand bags and an enemy standing with his back to you. Vault these sand bags by pressing and kick the clueless soldier off the balcony and unlock your trophy.

Or you can use the method FLIPADELPHIIA used in chapter 2.

The easiest way and there is no need to suffer. Chapter 11, your partner has been taken hostage and you must kill the one holding him. Before that, you will come up behind the soldier standing with his back to you, just do not kill him with a weapon, hide behind cover and press CIRCLE, clap and the trophy is yours.

It’s easier to get it in the following way: you need to run up to the cover behind which the enemy is sitting and, being opposite him (on opposite sides, of course), jump over the cover. Your character will hit the enemy's face with his boot, and you will receive a trophy))

This can be said to be a plot trophy! There is no need to run from cover to cover in search of enemies. In Chapter 11 (where they took your partner) this is the most ideal, and most importantly quiet way to remove the guard in order to get a sniper.
