To recruit Kiratt, you need to complete the mission "Retrieve the Baubles".
Mission requirements: The Meimai Knights are destroyed and complete the mission "Retrieve Rare Minerals".
Recruitment requirements: Complete the mission.
Once you have unlocked the mission, simply complete it and Kiratt will ask to join your party afterwards. The item you must retrieve is in the chest farthest from you and you can just go straight there and get it to end the mission. You can open the other chests on the map if you like, but be aware that every time you open a chest another group of reinforcements appears, usually right on top of you.
The achievement will unlock after you have saved your game.
