How to unlock the The Full Spelunky achievement in Spelunky 2 - Definitive Guide
I will always be here on TA to answer any questions about the game or point you in the right direction so please send me a message if you're having trouble with something.
This achievement plainly is for getting all achievements in Spelunky 2. This is not an easy task but hopefully some of my other guides have helped you along the way. It should also be noted that TA has deemed sharing sync codes (with someone else) as cheating, so don't get your decade plus TA account banned or warned or whatever it is they do for some simple achievement points.
In my opinion, the hardest achievements in order would be Low Scorer, Millionaire, Seen It All, Speedlunky, and then Awakened. This is not only based on skill as a factor but luck, as this is a rougelite. Everyone has a different playstyle though so what might be easier for me may not be the same for you. Saving the hardest for last is a smart way to go about it as every achievement that you get will make you that much better at the game and make the next one that much easier.
Knowledge is more powerful than skill in this game, as backwards as that might seem. There are a million billion little rules to the game that will never be explained to you in text while playing. Read about the game. Do you see how long my guides are? That is because this game is COMPLICATED. Making the correct decision is just as important as being able to physically input that decision. Do you go Volcana every time because you're more comfortable there? Stop doing that. Look at your resources and make a decision on which route is better to take. Are you terrified of Temple still? Practice going to Temple! The Elixir you get from the Star Challenge is OP and probably serves you better than the Clone Gun!
Here are some fun facts you might not know about the mechanics in Spelunky 2:
You whip has an incredibly interesting hitbox. The first few frames are actually behind you and above you and then after that, the hitbox is in front you of, where you'd expect it to be. The two distinct sounds (woo-tsh) is the timing of the two different hitboxes. Master the whip, master the game.
In Dwelling, 2-2 and 2-3 are either a Udjat Eye level or a Cave Turkey level, they will never spawn together. Also, you can use a skeleton key to open the Udjat Eye Chest.
A skull with a round eye socket is alive. A skull with an oval eye socket is dead.
There is always a pet for sale in the Black Market so if you see one in a jungle level, you know there is no black market on that level, same with seeing the Moon Challenge.
Vlad can be one shot with any bow and arrow combo including the one you pick up from the Moon Challenge.
Also, if you can trap two vampires in a corner and throw something at them repeatedly, you will get infinite blood as the vampires themselves are also healed by blood and will continue to heal as you drain them and heal yourself to 99 health.
You can also hold a dead body in front of a mummy in the temple for infinite health as the flies hit the dead body and the blood falls on to you.
When riding the Rock Dog, you are completely immune to all fire damage, not including lava.
An Axolotl can be used as a teleporter after you expend it's double jump.
Anubis II always drops a jetpack when defeated.
You can drop a Golden Idol in any shop that takes your money and it will be the same as turning it in.
Holding the jump button while headstomping an enemy will propel you higher.
Every level a Hired Hand survives on, they become more obedient to you and will take more abuse from you. Hired Hands are a death sentence to new players and a god send to advanced players. Read more about them here -> https://spelunky.fandom.com/wiki/Hired_Hand/2
If you whip a dice before it hits the ground, it will always be a 1 or a 6. Also you can sacrifice dice at an altar and choose your prize based on what numbers you place there. -> https://spelunky.fandom.com/wiki/Dice
If you ever want to take this game seriously, you need understand the forgiveness mechanic. Basically, try to never kill shopkeepers, it only makes your game that much harder. Read about it in detail here -> https://spelunky.fandom.com/wiki/Shopkeeper/2
If you see a shopkeeper with a giant ear, that is Ear, the shopkeeper. Originally a typo in the game, he is now a beloved character.
Stand in the statue's lap on 7-1 for ten seconds to get a free 4 health.
Wearing Vlad's cape drops way more blood for your kapala.
Wearing Spring Shoes or Spike Shoes lets you safely walk across spikes in Jungle. Wearing Climbing Gloves lets you grab onto the same spike walls.
You can catch objects with the Pitchers Mitt.
The Hedjet lets you see better in the dark while the Royal Crown offers you all items at half price in stores.
Spectacles prevent you from being inked by the Octopy.
The best use of the Clone Gun is to get it to Sun Challenge and clone the Player Bag reward for 98 bombs and 98 ropes.
The camera seems useless until you read all the things it can do. Instakills undead enemies. Stuns the ghost. Can stun dead players in multiplayer. Triggers most traps. Stuns and calms Crocmen. Knocks Olmites off of each other. Honestly, not the worst thing to have on most of the hard achievement runs. ->https://spelunky.fandom.com/wiki/Camera/2
Lots of common enemies have extremely rare drops that you can find sometimes. Mosquitoes have 1/1000 chance of dropping a hoverpack, Hang Spider has a 1/500 chance of dropping a web gun, Jiang Shi have a 1/1000 chance to drop Spring Shoes, Jiangshi Assassin have a 1/1000 chance to drop spike shoes, Crocmen have a 1/100 chance to drop a Telepack, and probably some more.
There is also a 1/5000 chance of an alien coming out of a broken pot.
The parachute has four different cosmetics, one of which is very rare. It's golden and shoots out gold the entire time it is deployed. The aliens who use parachutes also use these same four parachutes.
If you have more than 16 favor with Kali, you can sacrifice a rock at the altar and she will give you an arrow. You can also sacrifice an ushabati and it will give you a companion based on how much favor you have with her, the highest being 32 which gets you a Hired Hand holding a shotgun.
There is also a whole tier list of punishments for destroying too many Kali Altars including every level being dark and the ghost spawning immediately for every level.
And finally, what do you think you should do if you were wearing a jetpack and accidentally step on a spring trap that sends you flying upwards towards some spikes? The answer is to press the jump button, using your jetpack. Your jetpack not only stops you from going down, but also from going up, it stops all vertical movement. This would not be a very intuitive manuever to pull off, but with enough game knowledge, you can overcome any challenge in Spelunky 2!

Earn every other trophy to earn this very difficult Platinum. Congratulations! Below are some important general tips and information to help you earn all other trophies in this game.
Seeds:
Most of the trophies in the game requires you to play without using seeds or Co-op. However, in completing the Journal, you are allowed to use seeds, making your live much, much easier. Seeds are a combination of letters and symbols that correspond to a particular run someone found. Typing these in after selecting ‘seeded run’ in the main menu allows you to play that exact run. A good seed will for example have many powerful items near the start, giving you an enormous boost. They also have the added benefit of knowing in advance which Ushabti to pick in 6-2, allowing you to skip the many, many steps required to go to the secret area. You can find many great seeds at Spelunky.fyi, along with which Ushabti you will have to pick and other information. You can also use the Ushabti predictor on this same guide to find which Ushabti to pick for a given seed. Note that playing a seeded run will only make that individual run ineligible for earning trophies so you won't have to worry about using them.
Note: You will need to have unlocked at least 16 characters (including the 4 you start with) to unlock Seeded runs, after which you will have to interact with the spaceship just outside of the base.
Warning: As of December 23th 2020 (and December 15th for PC), the way seeds are read has been changed. This means that any seed you find from before this date will return a different run than before the patch. When using Spelunky.fyi or any other source for seeds, please check if it has been posted after this date.
Multiplayer: As with seeds, multiplayer is not allowed for earning most trophies, except for completing your Journal. Multiplayer is also not required for any trophies. Playing with like-minded friends however can greatly improve your chances, allowing many new strategies along with a fun chaotic time. Consider inviting some friends in completing the last entries of the Journal but it is not at all required. Multiplayer in Spelunky 2 can be either done via online or local Co-op.
Keeping a cool head: Spelunky 2 can be incredibly frustrating. There is no worse feeling than losing a 40 minute run at the last second because of some ridiculous interaction. Believe me, I’ve been there. The best thing you can do is accept that these things are part of the game and can and will happen to everyone. If you feel annoyed after dying for the 10th time in a row in the Dwelling, just take a break. Go play something else, get up and grab something to eat or go watch some Spelunky death compilations to laugh at the misery of others. Spelunky is a game that heavily punishes players who are impatient so trying to brute force your way through likely won’t result in anything but more dumb deaths.
On Shopkeepers: Shopkeepers are such an important part of the game, in particular for the Challenge runs, that they warrant their own section on how to deal with them.
Introduction: If you’ve ever tried to take an item without paying, you’ll find that the seemingly innocent, old shopkeepers are a real force to be reckoned with if angered. They will run all over the floor at breakneck speed blasting everywhere with their shotgun, likely killing you if they touch you at all. It is therefore not recommended to mess with them if you don’t know what you’re doing. Even if you are experienced in facing them, it most often might be a better idea to just pay for your items instead of taking the risk of ending your run prematurely. With that said, getting many powerful items early on can be very useful, especially when trying for the Challenge trophies like Speedlunky and Low Scorer so here is an in depth guide on how shopkeepers work and how you can rob them most effectively.
Shopkeeper forgiveness: If you anger a shopkeeper, you will not only be chased by him for the rest of the floor, you will also find another one with a shotgun waiting for you in front of every subsequent exit. However, depending on the severity of your crime, you might find that they will eventually forgive you if you don’t mess with them after that. You will know that the shopkeepers are no longer angry with if you see “You feel forgiven” when entering a new floor. If you kill any one of them though, it’s over, as they will likely never stop chasing you until you are dead. If you only hurt or rob one however, the crime is seen as much less severe and they will stop chasing you after 2 floors. The caveat here, is that you also can’t defend yourself against the shopkeepers guarding the exits, as hurting him will reset the 2 floor timer. You should therefore try and lure him away or jump over his shot and enter the door before he can fire a second one, both of which can be hard depending on the layout of the floor and takes much practice.
Robbing shopkeepers: Since killing them will cause them to chase you forever, you should try to take the items you want without killing him. The most easy and efficient method requires you to knock him out with a rope (pressing triangle while standing on the same place as him), quickly grab is shotgun and run away, grabbing any items in the process. Note that items you have to manually pick up, like capes jetpacks and weapons will require you to go back later and pick them up then, as you have very little time until the shopkeeper wakes up. Also note, that if there is a jail cell adjacent to the shop, the shopkeeper will drop a key along with his shotgun, which you will first have to toss away before you can grab the shotgun, making it much harder. Be wary that even without his shotgun, he can still knock you out for a couple of seconds if he touches you, likely stunlocking and killing you in the process. He will also pick up any other shotguns or freeze rays he finds on the way so be careful if he sells any of them in his shop. On a side note, hurting him after this won’t make the shopkeepers any more angry so feel free to jump on blast, freeze or knock out the poor guy, as long as you keep him alive.
Dealing with angry shopkeepers: An angry shopkeeper, even without his shotgun, running around is a very dangerous and unpredictable enemy, especially if you’re not allowed to hurt/kill him. There are however some ways to get rid of them. First, if they get stuck in a cobweb, they will not get out (they can still shoot though) so you can try and lure him into one. Secondly, any shopkeeper death not directly caused by you won’t make them angrier so a shopkeeper falling on spikes or getting pierced by an arrow trap won’t delay your shopkeeper forgives.
