How to unlock the Max Out Spider-Man achievement in Spider-Man Web of Shadows - Definitive Guide

The description is rather misleading for this achievement. What you are needing to do is to max out your swing speed, health, and special meters. These are all done through token collection.

You'll need a whopping 2000(!) tokens to reach max level. There are a total of 2180 tokens available in the game, as such, you don't have to wipe the city of them, but you'll still need to be fairly thorough.

Also, you'll only really have to worry about finding the first 1000. Once you do, any remaining tokens will appear on the mini-map as red dots. Once you get to that point it is just a matter of putting in the time.

Below are more tips on finding your first 1000:

- Keep an eye open at all times for a red/purple glow. These mark the location of these tokens.

- The tokens generally aren't hidden that well. Lots are on top of roofs. Several are on ledges on the taller buildings. There are also several at ground level in the parks.

- If you are having trouble finding more. Try changing altitudes and locations.

- If you see one during a mission, go get it even if it will cause you to fail the mission. The missions can be restarted while there is no guarantee you'll notice that token again.

even with the dots on the radar... this is gonna be a pain in the ass to get. no wonder it has such a high ratio ;)
i'm on my second play-through now and i think i will get the missing ones in a third game, because there is so much going on in the city now, so many enemy dots on the radar... it's just confusing.

I believe there are 2160 tokens in total, not 2180. Though I'm not 100% sure.

Yeah, messed up my math. That's what you get when you write a guide quickly doing the math mentally. Just suprised it took that long for someone to notice my typo.

i am still at the very beginning of the game when you are supposed to "Go to hit location" for the mission and i have 1451 spiders so far. Pretty much the first chance i had to really just explore the city. I found that by going to the edge of the city near the water and making a big circle all the way around i could clear areas in succession. First i got all the ones by the water on the docks and storage containers and next time around i cleared the streets and parks, then went to the first set of outer buildings, and so on. Seemed to help make it go faster. Once i got the dots on my map i started over at the water and picked up the ones i missed the first time around.

also if the red dot is in a building but seems to move around as you move, it's usually on a lower ledge of the building or in an alley or crevice between buildings.

On top of the Upper solution, if you would like to continue through the game and just collect the spiders as you go rather then spending a few hours spenind time looking just for them then follow these instructions and you will be able to start a new game with all collectibles you have already found and all upgrades-

- After beating the game, watch the credits all the way through.
- You’ll be back on the main menu, so press continue.
- The credits will start up again, so let them play fully again.
- You’ll be back on the main menu, now quit the game and go back to the Dashboard
- Load the game up again.
- On the main menu, select the continue option again.
- The game will begin from the beginning, but you have all your
upgrades, moves, experience points and Spider Tokens!

I have just finished the game and I can confirm that you don't need to quit the game.
Just watch the credits twice and the third time you hit "continue" you'll start from the beginning again with all moves, XP and spiders tokens.
From what I've seen in various forums, the only thing not carried over is the amount of side missions you've completed. Meaning if you did not reach 60 by the end of the game, you'll have to do them all again.

To achieve this you need to collect !2000! spiders...

I recommend collecting them on your first playthrough, because the game is easy to complete at 150, but you might not have enough patience later...

After finding half, the remaining spiders begin to appear on the minimap.

It is important to note that there are even more of them scattered around the city. Maybe 2500, maybe 3000. You can continue to collect them after leveling up, but there will be no sense in it. And yes, they appear on the map after the 1000th as red dots. But the enemies are red dots too. Be careful
