This more or less comes with the completion (of course) but just try to refrain from using your sling-shot so that you keep collecting more. As soon as you get to unlocking the cellar, go to the washer and hit it, there will be a lot coming out of it.

You should have collected 25 ball bearings by the time you finish chapter 3. This achievement, like all other collecting achievements in this game is cumulative. You do not need to have 25 in your possession, you must have just collected 25. So feel free to fire away when playing as Jared.
