Story related achievement.
The first part that you need to do is make a home for Thimbletack the boggart/brownie. After you've collected the materials there is a cut-scene where Thimbletack explains the use of the Seeing stone. After the cut-scene you use Thimbletack to get the Seeing Stone. This is the part where you can go for the cockroaches achievements.
After you have the Seeing Stone talk to Simon and shoot the cat from the roof of the garage by aiming at the sign.
Simon agrees to make the monocle for you. Head up to the attic where the telescope is and grab that (where you got the field guide). Then go to the study and take the glasses from the desk. Then go over to the workbench to make the monocle. After your done making them (use workbench) head back down the stairs. You meet Jared downstairs and go with him to the study to get the monocle.
