How to unlock the Yako Colossus achievement in Spirit Hunters: Infinite Horde - Definitive Guide
See ** remarks below for specific information on this boss.
You will first need to get far enough in the Divinity Web (upgrade system) to unlock this Map. After unlocking the map you then need 500 runes to unlock the hard variant of the map and then Ember cores and Shadow Souls to unlock Hardcore and Brutal variant of the map. When you unlock certain maps when you click on a section like the Desert it will show multiple locations like Desert Ruins and Spine Dunes. Make sure to select the correct map.
You can do the kill boss achievements all on normal though.
Once unlocked load up the Highlands - Northwoods Map on normal with your favorite character and get to the 15 minute mark and then you will be surrounded by what looks like the spears in a circle and the Yoko Colossus Boss will appear. Just defeat it and you will get the achievement. Be sure not to touch the spears surrounding you as it will damage and can kill you.
**I want to note that from the second map in each area the bosses start getting stronger even on normal and they have a lot more health so make sure you level up your strongest abilities and use abilities you have the mods for. I used Conrad for my first try due to his massive 340 health and he can take hits. Good thing because this boss is another giant one. Actually bigger than the crab OniClaw. His hits really hit hard also. The boss sits at the top of the circle of spears and spams little snowballs. The little small ones the enemies shoot at you during the level. There was bigger snowballs rolling down the level so when i got close to the 15 minute mark i made sure to find a spot where there was a mountain at the top of the circle of spears. I'm not sure if the big snowballs roll down during the fight but i wanted to make sure if they did then they would be stopped. I used the usual. Arrows, Bones, Spears, and Poison Cloud. The poison helps during the levels i think so i mainly use it for that. I got the damage over time pet to help with damage from the poison also. I also got the heart pet and the damage pet to help out along with the magnet and chest pet to open chests faster. I got all 4 abilities to the mod levels and stayed at the bottom of the circle. I really like the bones when its upgraded to the splinter and you max the cooldown to level 5. It shoots so fast. You do have to be careful though the boss will charge down towards the bottom of the circle every 15-20 seconds so be ready to move right or left quickly. Otherwise i just faced the boss so the arrow and the bones could damage and then got close for the spears to hit it a few times. Don't bother trying to poison Yoko if you do take the poison cloud. He is immune. He has almost 14k health and with this loadout i had him down after he charged me twice so about 35-40 seconds. Just try to dodge the mini snowballs and the bosses charge and damage the boss when you can and victory will be yours**
Remember also that in this game most basic enemies are on set routes and they will not chase you. Some of the bigger enemies and bosses will chase after you so just be on the lookout as to which ones do chase you and which ones just follow a set route. Also, there's a lot of obstacles in the levels where enemies can get stuck or bottle necked and you can pile them up and trap them to get extra kills and souls. Make sure you take advantage of that.
