How to unlock the Going The Distance achievement in Split/Second - Definitive Guide

Statistically, Dry Docks and Canyon are the longest races in the game. Both have three laps, each being longer than most other three lap races. Racing these tracks over and over should be enough to get the achievement. I suggest you complete all the other achievements first and then you should only have to drive for at the very most an hour.

That's one of natures mysteries. I googled it and while there was a number of articles that included the number but none seemed significant. You've made me wonder now...

can I just select "restart event" after every event?

You can. Some people will tell you otherwise but I was able to get the wrecking achievement just by restarting so its reasonable to assume that restarting is fine here too.

This also doesn't unlock during the race but after you finish the race.

Well if anyone is still wondering 1081 was the radius of the moon before they narrowed it down to 1079?6. You can still find 1081 miles listed as the radius of moon in some scientific papers

Considering people are still playing this game today, I'll make this guide. From what I've tried, any map works, but I suggest doing the Survival mode on quickplay and drive for as long as you can until either you crash 3 times, or until time runs out. That'll GUARANTEE large mile count.

By the end of the game you will have driven approximately 600-700 miles, the rest is a matter of time.

If you go to all the races of 12 seasons once, you will get 550 miles. That is. If you go through a race and don't complete it, you start going through the menu again - the miles won't count.

The trophy is cumulative .

I wouldn't agree with the gentlemen above. After finishing my career I had at least 700 miles left. So, it all depends entirely on you. There are other notes to the “achievement”:
  • The race is about 10 miles. In the "Detonator" mode - 2-3.
  • The best way to earn money is online, combining it with the corresponding trophies. (“World Champion”, “Out of Reach”, etc.)
  • Miles are credited ONLY after the race is completed. Restart resets them.
