How to unlock the Zero To Hero achievement in Split/Second - Definitive Guide
The requirements for this achievement are as follows:
-Start the route change path in 8th place.
-Take 1st place before the routes merge again.
This is best done on the Canyon stage, if you have it unlocked. Play it in free play (the difficulty is turned all the way up by the time you get to this stage in Season mode), turn the difficulty down to easy and try to drift pass a couple of cars in turn two; this should give you two meters straight away, and then let off the throttle until you're back in last. Use the couple of jumps and drafting to build up the rest of the meter, and activate the route change on the dam when you first see it.
You do not need to wreck everyone in one go, and this track gives you a fair bit of track (and a few more power plays to use) to make up the difference. I got it when using the next power play to wreck the one guy I missed with the dam (how the heck do you miss people with an entire dam, anyway?).

I found this to be the easiest method. I even got it in season play. I don't think a higher difficulty makes any difference just as long as you're in last place and trigger it by the time all of them are at the dam.

I managed to get this on Expressway with the pack fairly tight and just ahead of me. Confirmed that you do not need to wreck everyone - just go from 8th to 1st.

Well to start off your best bet would be to play in session mode till you have unlocked 'Canyon' in Quick-Play and a car that can fly around corners like a bat out of hell.
1. Go to the Quickplay option at the menu and select 'Race' then select the 'Canyon' Track.
2. Chose the car that your suitable with but make sure the drift stat is full or almost full. (I used the 'Ryback Firestorm')
3. As soon as the race start's there are three corners at the beginning before the rout changer (the Dam) you'd have to go all out on the first two corners by drifting like a mad man and draft the other cars while you drift around the bend. After the second bent is a fairly long straight road where you'd have to draft the opponents to help you get the full three power plays to set off a Rout Changer. Once you have the three full bars you'll have to time the rout-change perfectly so when the other cars are on/about to go onto the road under the dam set off the rout changer and hopefully you'll get 'Ultimate Wreckage' by destroying all opponents.
Make sure you stay a little bit behind all the other racers you can blow up the dam and still be unharmed yourself.
I got a little help from the Video guide the other gamer posted on another solution so maybe try watching that to give you a little hand in the right direction and hopefully you can get the achievement with ease but i will admit its tricky but you'll be 20G better off :)
Thanks for reading my solution and if there's anything you think i should add to the solution then don't hesitate to PM me or leave what you think in a comment! Good luck
