How to unlock the Overkill achievement in Spyglass Board Games - Definitive Guide

This achievement unlocks, as it states, when you capture ALL the opponent's pieces before getting a checkmate (trapping the king).

You can unlock this achievement by playing solo offline with AI or you can unlock this by playing online with someone else.

Keep in mind you MUST get a Checkmate to unlock this achievement. So it other words you unless you are extremely lucky/skilled you would need at least two remaining pieces. The first time I got a stalemate and it did not count and did not unlock. You must WIN (and not tie). Because the achievement says "Win at Chess".

Just to clarify a checkmate is when the next move you make you will TAKE the King piece therefore is a win. A stalemate is when the next move you make the king has no where to move therefore is a tie (stalemate). I want to thank Blink 201 for the explanation!

Depending on your skill level at chess this could either be an easy one or a hard one. It was very easy for me since chess is my all time favorite game.

There is no real trick to beating this with the AI since you have to take every piece. You need to know the rules of chess and in this solution I am not going to explain them to you since it is a skill that takes time to develop. So if you have no clue what chess is about or have very little experience and your having trouble with the AI I would highly suggest boosting with someone over live.

Boosting is easy on this game since so few people play this game. Just search for a game of chess at the same time and you should have no issues finding each other.

You can get this achievement when going for the following achievement:

Great Post, Only addition I would add is explaining the difference between a checkmate and a stalemate.
(Dummy Explination)
Checkmate - In the next move you TAKE the King piece
Stalemate - In the next move the king has no where to move there for is a tie (stalemte)

This is easier to do with a friend over Live. Just take every piece before you checkmate the King.
