Who Needs Boost
Earn a Bronze Medal on a Race Event in Explore without using any boost

How to unlock the Who Needs Boost achievement in SSX - Definitive Guide
This achievement isn't as bad as it may seem.
From the Menu Menu, choose Explore mode, then the Rockies (North America), then Whitehorn Mountain, JT2 - Race It! Any rider, with any suit/board/gear will do.
You will have almost 3:30 to complete your run which should be plenty of time, even without any boost.
Just drop out of the helicopter, and remember to keep your finger off RT and all times, so you don't accidentally deploy Boost.
Just finish the race, by continuing down the hill, within the Bronze time (which should be easy) and the achievement is yours after the race.

Great course for this. I ended up with a silver medal using no boost. Cheers!

Only 15 seconds slower then my current Personal Best. What is wrong with me? :s

While JT2 is definitely easy, The Alps > Vorassay > Beyond the Fall is without a doubt the easiest track for this. As Darrcyphfeid reveals in his solution for
...forget Bronze, you can get GOLD without using boost, without even steering, in under 2 minutes on Beyond the Fall. Finishing under 2 minutes for gold trumps the 2:37 bronze run shown in the video.
(Sorry, Maka! Still love your videos.)

JT2 is the target run for this achievement.
The bronze time is a whopping 3 minutes 28.94 seconds, which is utterly ridiculous.
If you are a trick-it spaz like me, you might want to keep your right hand behind your back, as you won't be needing it, and simply navigate with the left stick. My first try doing this, I ended up with 2 minutes 5.99 seconds with maxed out gear, which also nailed me the silver badge :3

I got this right after the tutorial, then tried a race track in explore.
I got it by accident, because i forgot to use boost.
It doesent matter if you get last place.

I recommend choosing a short track, with minimal unavoidable jumps and plenty of rails to grind, as all of those things will decrease your time. Hug corners, bring a wingsuit and use it to maintain a decent speed while in the air, or skip large chunks of track. Also, as performing tricks in a race are solely for the purpose of building boost, they are entirely unnecessary now. Only grinding is beneficial, as it will move you at decent speeds and keep you out of the air, usually.
For other tips, see The Golden Standard, but do not use boost.

An easy achievement in my opinion. IMPORTANT!!!! You can’t not only take mods, but also not press them !!! To speed up, press :LS: up and :RS: down
