How to unlock the Creative Craftsman achievement in Star Ocean: The Last Hope - Definitive Guide

The game keeps track of every item you make for the first time. Since there are 321 different items, you must make 193 to unlock this achievement (which is a tiny bit more than 60%).

I recommend keeping track of what you make right from the beginning of the game (something I didn't do), so that you don't have to try to remember later what you've made and what you haven't. Something you can do is use the Memory Plate ship furnishing to see how many different recipes you've made at least once (and if you have a Memory Plate, you can scratch that item off your list, heh).

SPOILER(ish): If you are going for 100%, make sure you get these four recipes with Faize while you still have him:

- Iron Saber
- Elastic Rapier
- Rune Saber
- Onyx Saber

Also, when you start getting to the really hard items (the ones that require Scales and Moonstones and whatnot), just wait until you get the Duplication skill in Cave of the Seven Stars. Then all you'll need to find is Magical Clay.

The fastest way to farm Magical Clay is to steal them from the Bone Knights in the Seven Star dungeon. Teach Myuria the Steal skill and max it out. Synthesize three Slayer's Bangles to a fourth Slayer's Bangle (which grants several extra attacks per attack). Equip this on Myuria. Go to B1 of the SSD. One of the very first enemy groups you see will be Bone Knights. Kill any other enemy groups around the Bone Knight (you won't be using Ocarina, so don't worry about them coming back). Once you have just the Bone Knight group, turn everyone on Manual (except for Sarah, put just her healing symbols on), enter the battle and use Myuria's forward+A attack on the skeletons. Quite often you'll steal Magical Clay, but sometimes it's a Hyper Potion. Once you've stolen one item from each skellie, run from the battle (Bonus Board be damned!) and re-enter the battle and repeat.

You will get annoying bees mixed in unless you keep getting Preemptive attacks, but Preemptive attacks also mean less skellies per battle. If Sarah is strong enough to outlast the bees, enter the battles normally, otherwise play it safe.

Otherwise, just make sure you use that link that Ater Magus has.

You should probably mention the stupid thing about the recipes that you gain throughout the game. You can only hand in one at a time to Welch. Therefore, if you have one, go back to Welch, and then continue.

If you however, have more than one recipe at a time, you can only select one to give to Welch, and so will miss out on the other recipes.

I made this mistake, but I wasn't gonna 100% this anyway (Frankly, I can't be bothered to play through 3 times and play 200+ hours for BTs).

I've never encountered this before... I'm not sure if I ever had more than one Recipe at a time however. Strange!

Okay, maybe I'm wrong then. I hope I am, but I'm sure I read that somewhere.

I did a quick search, and found nothing . . . so . . . just ignore what I said above! laugh.

As a side note. On xbox.com, the achievement picture for this achievement has 75% written on it (at least, it does for me anyway). Weird.
