Each character has 100 different Battle Trophies. So in order to get this to pop you have to get 90 of them amongst the 9 characters. Another thing is that the game makes 2 saves one for your actual game data and another for the collection data.
This allows you to have your completed trophies on other play throughs. Although you can't finish the ones that are not complete (example: you need 3000 kills,if you get 2999 in first play through you won't get the trophy on a different play through by getting one kill.
**SPOILER ALERT**
Achievement hunters beware that Faize leaves the party on the second disc when you go back to Aeos.
This allows you to have your completed trophies on other play throughs. Although you can't finish the ones that are not complete (example: you need 3000 kills,if you get 2999 in first play through you won't get the trophy on a different play through by getting one kill.

It might be worth noting that Faize leaving can have consequences on item creation related achievements (specifically if you fail to learn the recipes for his four rapiers before he leaves; this is because the progress you make on items you create in item creation don't carry across saves), but if you make a save RIGHT before he leaves the party and then continue the game using a new save slot, you can reload that previous save after completing the game, and you'll be able to keep Faize in the party and maintain any progress you've made on his unique enemy kills or Grigori kills or 3,000 battles (basically saves you half a playthrough, roughly 20 hours).
