How to unlock the Silenced Satanail achievement in Star Ocean: The Last Hope - Definitive Guide

To earn this achievement, you need to defeat the final boss (Any difficulty).

To do this:

FIRST FORM - If you are using Edge, just hack and slash and use skills, this is the weak form of the boss, so its actually just a short battle.

SECOND FORM - The second form is harder. The boss has 4 orbs in front of him, green, purple, (blue?), and white, the white and blue are destroyed by regular attacks and skills, the green and purple can be destroyed using magic (symbology).

After destroying the 4 orbs, just beat the **** out of the boss ANY WAY YOU CAN, I used Edge with Valiant Sword (The skill Edge gets at like Level 65 - 68) with EM bombs, and his cyclone blade......I had the the ATK BOOST skill book (final dungeon) on EDGE, which made his ATK about 3000. with critical hit as well, which made my attacks take about 9000 - 12000 each time (skills would be about 7-8000.)

The other party members (Reimi, Arumat, Lymel) I had HP boost and Auto healing equipped, they kept Edge (me) alive the whole battle with 20,000 hp when they had 32,000 each.

I found this battle pretty easy using Bacchus' Irradiation skill. A chain combo of 3 times this skill dealt quite a bit of damage to the orbs and filled up the rush bar. Then I used a rush combo of Irradiation - Galvanic Shock - Irradiation.
During the 2nd phase of the battle I kept using this strategy, and The rush combo's were combined with 3 of Edge's attacks to deal around 150,000 damage each rush combo (when you use attack boosting skills or items, it can deal up to 250,000 per rush combo).
Because I was doing so much damage with the rush combo's the boss had very little time to damage my party members inbetween the rushes.
I completed the battle without any of my team members dying even once (on Galaxy difficulty)

The trick to beating Satanail is to have Sarah acting as healer (Staying Out of Trouble) and combo as often as possible. I chose to play as Arumat during the battle as his combo's could easily damage the orbs and inflict massive continuous damage. Let Edge distract him while you rebuild your rush gauge. Abuse this tactic for awhile (using healing items when needed) and this boss will fall. I recommend a Arumat/Edge/Myuria/Sarah team for a well balanced attack.
