The easiest way to obtain this achievement is to play on guess what...Easy.
At the end of the mission entitled 'Omega' there will be a Borg sphere that has three smaller supporting spheres.
To obtain this achievement you cannot destroy any of the smaller supporting spheres around the larger Borg sphere. Make sure that your ships are only targeting the large sphere. If you destroyed the main sphere without destroying any of the smaller spheres. Then the achievement should be unlocked.

This achievement highlighted one of the many seemingly random aspects of this game. My ships were attacking the main sphere and doing very little damage, Eventually I had to retreat and repair. When I returned, suddenly my ships were MUCH more effective and were able to whittle down the main sphere, and without taking much damage.
