the game is basically the same on all the difficulties, except that the enemies do more damage as you increase the difficulty. also, on the harder levels, think tactically, the A.I. will easily outmaneuver you so you have to be more alert, and expect the unnexpected.

I believe I beat this game on Admiral difficulty, it took about 45 minutes to an hour per level, and a long time. However, these achievements do not stack. Like in Guitar Hero, if you beat it on Expert, it pops all the achievements for the lower difficulties. This game doesn't seem to do that.

Should I play with power diverted to the shields the whole time? I guess I can just play it and see. I kind of had a hard time beating it on Ensign haha

@shinobiWan Z nah I played with mostly on weapons. I almost got stuck with no ships and credits near the end, so it may be worth while to reload if one of your ships blow up, so you can sell it. Basically, the Admiral walk through says to have 4 sovereign class ships (Enterprise E) near the end.

I had two, plus the Enterprise D, and some other random cruiser. Nebula class. I was able to beat Captain fairly easy.

Finally just did this on Admiral. I had 3 Sovereign Class (Enterprise E) and one destroyer that was very delicate for the final mission. Look up buddies Admiral walkthrough, it's really well worded, and tells you what to buy and when. Lots of room for deviation if you find better tactics. This took me a few days to complete in between shifts of work.
