* Federation and Romulan Republic (Federation) players get this story arc. *
They added Task Force Operations to almost every main story arc. As far as I'm aware, the TFO mission is not necessary for this arc's achievement. (thanks Slipper21)
There are 5 total missions(episodes) in the Cardassian Struggle story arc. Many of them are given to you by Commander Sarish Minna and Commander Mesi Achebe after you report the previous completed mission to them. Most missions involve traveling to a part of space, doing battle with enemy ships in the area, then transporting to a location where you'll do some exploring and battling enemy personnel. Be sure to loot crates found in each area and to equip your mission reward gear and promotion skills as you get them.
I've done this with my Fed character but not with my Romulan character yet. If you know the Romulan arc differs greatly from this arc, please let me know.
If you get stuck during the 5th mission, just click the mission title for a walkthrough:

4. The Factory
5. The New Link

You can check your progress from the in-game menu by pressing
and selecting Missions, then Mission Journal. On the Episodes tab, select Cardassian Struggle.

No, you do not need the TFO for the achievement. The achievement still pops once you have completed the new link mission.

To unlock this Trophy you need to Complete the Cardassian Struggle story arc (as noted in the description) which is comprised of the following 10 missions...
- “Lost and Found”
- “Spoils of War”
- “Jabberwocky”
- “The Factory”
- “The New Link”
- “Second Wave”
- “Of Bajor”
- “Operation Gamma”
- “Facility 4028”
- “Boldly They Rode”
This story arc can be completed by Federation, Klingon and Romulan characters at level 35 or above.
