X-wing vs. TIE Fighter

In the Campaign, destroy eight starfighters in the skies of Jakku.

How to unlock the X-wing vs. TIE Fighter achievement in STAR WARS Battlefront II - Definitive Guide

For this achievement you simply have to destroy 8 Tie Fighters while flying around in the X-Wing over Jakku during the "Battle of Jakku" mission. These will be clearly marked in red and are very easy to shoot down.

The mission is broken up into 2 ground sequences mixed in with flying. You should unlock this achievement during the second flying portion.

I got the achievement in the first section, right as you spawn just focus on the Tie-fighters and not the mission, you will get the achievement in no time.

Is this glitched for anyone else? I've taken out over 20 TIEs in the second flying section and nothing has popped

Okay it popped there. For me only the enemies that are marked counted towards this achievement. I flew to the next objective after giving up and as part of the mission I had to take down fighters before landing again. It popped right after defeating the last objective-marked fighter lol

This seems to be glitched for me as I shot down all the red marked fighters and still didn't get the achievement. Nor did it update on my tracker.

i killed 8 enemy ships right away and it popped. never landed on the ground or anything

I hit no more than 5 TIE fighters and then the achievement popped part way through the ground sequence.

I guess I only got 3 while playing the story, so when I went back after beating the game, I got it after shooting 5 more, in the first section.

perhaps the 8 kills doesn't have to be in the same playthrough.

Can confirm I just killed about six and it popped so must have included first playthrough. Not quite sure how it could have needed me to kill six on the second run tbh.

had 4 on my first playthrough (why..?) and got WAYYYYYY more replaying, but it still won't pop. worse yet, after the final 4 I intentionally crashed into the ground to get another 4 but it won't reload even after 5-10 minutes.

Mission 11: The Battle of Jakku
At the very start of mission 11 you will be flying an X-Wing. Simply shoot down 8 TIE Fighters before completing the two mission objectives.

In The Mission you must go to two different distress beacons and deal with the areas.

In between those two beacons, you can fly around, and you can shoot starfighters.

This trophy can be obtained either during your story playthrough or through chapter select after you’ve completed the story.

This trophy can only be done in the 11th chapter of the game called “The Battle of Jakku”. Immediately after the starting cutscenes you’ll find yourself in an X-Wing. To obtain this trophy you simply need to take down eight TIE Fighters. Make sure you focus only on the TIE Fighters and not the actual objectives (Beacons), because if you take down these beacons the story will progress and you will have to start over.
