How to unlock the The Force is Strong With This One achievement in STAR WARS Battlefront II - Definitive Guide
You will need a total of 7,000,000 XP to reach 50. Heroes Vs Villains is currently the "fastest" (in the loosest sense of the word) way to earn XP, as depending on how good you are, you could get anywhere between 10,000-25000 per match. Any way you slice it, this will be a grind.
Best characters to use for points (imo) are Chewy, Rey, Vader, and Bossk. Chewy in particular can get you a ton of points each match.
UPDATE: As of the 2/19/18 1.2 patch, Chewie has been nerfed pretty hard, but he's still good for points in HvV. Just don't expect the Shock/Echo Roar combo to be nearly as devastating as it used to be. Also, Yoda has gotten a major buff to his lightsaber damage and his Unleash ability. He's a great choice for HvV now, as well. I'm going to recommend Phasma too, as her Staff Strike just got a fantastic upgrade and if you combo that with your Shock Sentry, you can end up really tearing shit up.
Yoda:
- Enduring Presence
- Master Of The Force
- Opposing The Dark Side
Chewy:
Bonus Health
Echoing Roar
Shocked And Vulnerable
Rey:
Strong Mind
Opportunist
Deep Mind
Vader:
Furious Resilience
Last Gasp
Bonus Health
Bossk:
Spreading The Disease
Trap Arming Speed
Multi Traps
Phasma:
- Not Hard Enough
- Finish Them Off
- The More The Better
No love for Kylo in the post solution? He got buffed all around too... Even Boba Fett doesn't feel nearly as nerfed anymore due to how they reworked the jetpack controls, where he has much better and more fun maneuverability in the air. The dodge roll getting nerfed for everyone/everything in the game kinda helps too with his missile barrage accuracy, even if it's not the force to be reckoned with that it once was.
Rey's alright on occasion, but Yoda seems to be the most promising for me out of force users on the light side, thanks to his Opposing The Dark Side card which as the name implies, does more damage to dark side heroes.
For Bossk, I prefer Name Your Poison so I regain quick health when using a dioxis grenade, and Ultimate Predator to extend the duration of predator instinct with each kill.
Chewie and Vader I agree on and in terms of cards. Other builds I have that I would also recommend listing...
Palpatine:
Lightning Reach
The Rule of Two
In Full Control
Iden Versio:
Droid Batteries
Cooled Blaster
Hot Swap
Kylo Ren:
Solid Freeze
Power Reach
Resilience or Bloodletting Frenzy
Leia:
Rebel Heart
Optimized Shield Deployment
High Spirit
Darth Maul:
Frantic Strikes or Thrown To Slow
Fool Me Once
Lightsaber Defense
My other remaining character builds I'm less certain on, but those ones I feel strongly enough about.
This is just a strategy to get as much XP as possible and a quick time calculation to let you know how long you'll be grinding to rank 50.
When you reach level 50, the achievement pops when you join a new/different server.
Tips that got me to a max of 63,000XP/round (188,000XP/15min on triple XP day):
- Only play the First Order co-op missions because you will be able to use Phasma. As of the current update, she is an absolute beast!
- Try to get your 4000 battle points as quickly as you can and then choose "respawn" from the start menu and select her so that no one gets the chance to use her before you.
- Upgrade her Blaster Inspection and Easy Shot boost cards. This will allow you to almost continuously use your rifle without ever cooling it down.
- Make good use of your Survivor feature and use Not Hard Enough. This will get you out of difficult situations and gives you virtually unlimited health.
- Stay out of the thick of it. Snipe enemies from a medium distance.
- Avoid enemy heroes. They take too long to kill because Phasma causes very little damage against them. Focus on the other enemies. This way you'll rack up your XP really quickly and don't get light-sabered by Rey. (So annoying)
- With this strategy I get around 120 to 150 kills every round.
Time Required:
- You'll need around 7,000,000XP to get to rank 50.
- The first 25 ranks are only around 10% of your way to rank 50.
- Starting at level 25, every rank will require you to get exactly 245,400XP
- Once you get good at co-op and have leveled up your units, you should be able to at least get 40,000XP every round (I reliably get between 45,000 and 60,000XP per round). [but you can insert any XP average you like to calculate your time to grind. For this example, I will use an average of 45,000XP]
- One round takes around 15min, if you are attacking and win, or if you're defending and let the attackers reach the last point.
- Therefore, you should get the following XP:
- Single XP days: 180,000XP/h and it will take you 39h to reach rank 50.
- Double XP days (Weekends): 360,000XP/h and it will take you 19h
- Triple XP days (Wednesdays): 540,000XP/h and it will take you 13h.
One more tip to see how much XP you already have:
- There is no good way in-game that I can find to tell how much XP you've earned. But there's a great way on TA...
- Go to the SW:BF2 TA game page and click on "compare [with friend]" and the total XP will be listed in the top section of the table.
- One little caveat: It seems the TA site does not count double or triple XP. It will only record the base XP you get in the game.
I know their are way worse grindy achievements but this still sucks and is really boring after awhile. Although this is by far and away the fastest method. I started the grind at level 25 with Phasma level 1. I am now level 39 and Phasma is level 113. Probably about 7-8hours of grinding so far exclusively on triple and double xp days. Will keep grinding away now. Adios
The best one I found was Galactic Empire. Iden Versio is brutally underrated. Spray at groups of enemies then fire her alternate explosive bolt to finish them off. It's also insanely useful against those heavies that use the portable shield, fire the explosive at their feet.
You can also fire the explosive at the ground to kill enemies taking cover.
Something else I think is important; When defending, let enemies capture all points as fast as possible and hold out at the last flag . A few minutes is added every time an objective is captured, and seeing as the last capture point has only 1 flag, enemies bottle neck to your position, making it very easy to get a ton of kills fast. I managed to reach 98,000 with 300 kills.
That was on the map Tatooine: Jabba's Palace.
For that last flag on that map specifically, you can stand in the cap point by the tunnel entrance as you kill enemies, you'll gain "playing the objective" points and "Objective Kill" bonuses.
In my experience, Bossk is the best hero if you are trying to rank up. Just bomb the crap out of enemies and you shall get 30k to 50k xp a game. Then triple it and you shall get there in total of 20 hours gameplay (rank 50 requires around 250k xp).
Note that you can also get trooper and hero related trophies in coop, so only the spaceship related trophies will remain to get the platinum.
Get A Buddy And Hop In There.
You're Looking At Anywhere From 20,000 to 50,000 EXP For A Win.
Note*
Co-Op Missions Are Also Affected By The Triple And Double EXP Events.
A Friend Of Mine Went From Level 20 To Level 50 On A Triple EXP Weekend; Just Doing Co-Op Missions -
Give It A Shot!
Good Luck!
This trophy is where you’ll be spending the most of your gaming time by far. To reach rank 50 you’ll need a lot of experience in the form of Battle Points. Exactly how much time you’ll spend on getting there is skill dependent, because the amount of Battle Points you manage to obtain during your games is based on your performance.
You can get Battle Points for simply damaging and killing enemies but the most points can be obtained from playing the objective. No matter what mode you play, always make sure you are aware of what the objective is and go for it. Although a lot of the objectives can only be completed by one person in a game of many, you’d be surprised how few people are actually going for the objective. Most people treat every game mode as if it were team deathmatch so take advantage of that and rack up the points with objectives.
There are decent points to be obtained in every game mode, but the most lucrative for now seems to be the Heroes vs. Villains mode.
Glitch note: In one of the former updates this trophy didn't pop upon reaching rank 50. It was fixed in a later update, but the trophy won't pop right away upon reaching level 50. Once you've reached level 50 load into a new match to get this trophy to pop.
EDIT: Alternatively, since one of the later updates this trophy can be obtained in co-op mode by playing with bots which might prove easier than obtaining it in regular PvP games. Credits to Mastodon for confirming this method.
