How to unlock the It's working! It's working!! achievement in STAR WARS Episode I Racer - Definitive Guide

Quick way to get this achievement, boost until your engines catch fire then just repair by holding right bumper. You don't need to worry about banging up, or damaging your Pod in any other way.

Right bumper is repair. I've added that bit into the original guide.

To boost, hold up on Left stick and press the A button. The game doesn't tell you anywhere how to do this.

Is there a trick to repairing? It keeps flashing repair every time I press it.

Press and hold RB until your engines change from red towards green on your HUD. When the hissing sound stops and the color stops changing, you're done.

@Kwxzza - Anakin is the character all the way to the left on the character selection screen.

If anyone else did all the other achievements, and ended up with a super fast pod racer with all the upgrades - you can go to 'Vehicle Upgrades' in the menu, and select the worst parts for Accelerate and Top Speed, which makes your racer slower, and makes it easier to boost without crashing.

Then keep boosting until it says 'Engine Fire', then hold RB to repair, and it should pop.

Would be nice to mention a level to play on... When boosting just a small scratch a speed drops down... try few stages and each time I crashed before start Engine fire would start...

For me works Andobi Mountain Run just after the start there is nice section where turning is easy at full speed.

I found that I would accelerate holding RT. Then once that bar by the speedometer would fill up turning on a green light I would press up with the left stick making that green light turn yellow. Once it was Yellow. I'd press A to initiate the boost and then hold rb as the warning overheat light came on. Hope this helps anyone.

Boosting until an overheat is an option, but I would say it's probably easier to pick a level with flames bursting from the ground and then deliberately run over one and hold RB to repair.

Thank you very much. I don't know how to continuously accelerate to overheat the engine, but I succeeded in using this method. By the way, there is a magma section in the last match

There's just very few sections in the game where you can boost to that point without ramming into a wall beforehand. I dunno why the easier option wasn't suggested.

You haven't mentioned what race has flames coming out of the ground though?
