How to unlock the Don't Mess with BD-1 achievement in STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order - Definitive Guide

With the new title update, this achievement and some others are easier to obtain. You might get this achievement naturally playing through the story, but if you don't, you can easily earn the achievement with this guide. You need the slice ability for BD-1 and the force pull upgrade for this to work.

Go to any meditation point in the game, then go to Meditation Training > Battle Grid. When the game loads, you need to select an arena (any one is okay, wont make the achievement any more difficult), then put the Probe Droid and the Stormtrooper into the Battle Grid, then start the training. Once it begins, force pull the Probe Droid towards you with cn_LT, then press cn_down on the D-pad so BD-1 can hack into it. Once BD-1 has hacked into the droid, distract the Stormtrooper so he does not destroy the droid before it can kill him.

Here is a short clip of me doing what I explained in my text guide so you can use this as help if you're confused with the explanation:

Before you can hack a droid you must first find and collect either the Slice: Security Droid (on Kashyyyk) or Slice: Probe Droid (on Zeffo) BD-1 ability from a lightsaber workbench.

I got the Hack Droid upgrade for BD1 on Kashyyyk just after Fighting the Security Droid/Freeing the first set of Wookiees. When you exit the door (that was opened in the cut scene) slightly to your right you will see a rope just off the edge, jump to it, turn to the right and swing to the next rope then turn right again and jump to the platform with a workbench on it, on this workbench was the upgrade. Carry on to the next set of Wookiees to free and there is another Security Droid, I damaged him a few times then it gave me a D-pad prompt (I think it was down) then sat back and watched it kill the Stormtroopers

In this video guide I will show you how to defeat an enemy with a hacked droid. I did this with the Slice: Probe Droid skill that you get for BD-1. I got this at the work bench after leaving the second tomb where you get your Force Pull ability. I pointed it out in the video as well.

Once you get the Slice ability, head to the Crash Site. This is also on Zeffo where you get the Slice ability. Head to the Crash Site and find a Probe Droid. There will be several in this area to try and get the achievement. Once you get near one, use Force Pull to bring it to you. Then you will need to press down on the D-Pad to have BD-1 hack it. Now you will need to find another Probe Droid to kill with BD's hacked one. Once you do, make sure not to attack it or deflect shots back at it. Or you will accidentally kill it and not get the achievement. Just make sure that BD's Probe Droid does all the work in killing the other Probe Droid. Once that is done correctly the achievement will pop.

After getting the upgrade for BD-1 to hack enemy droids, you'll immediately face a group of enemies with a security droid. Damage the droid until a prompt comes on screen, then hit to send BD-1 in to hack it. It will now be on your side and attack the other troopers. This is very handy as the game goes on, so you'll likely do it many times.

On your first visit to Kashyyk, you can access a hidden bench using a secert passage. Using that bench you will unlock BD-1 ability Slice. Then as you meet the Security Droid, hit hom till the left pad stick appears dpad_down.png, using this skill the security droid will fight alongside you and the trophy will unlock once he defeats an enemy most probably a stormtrooper.

You don't have to hack a security droid. You can, after gaining the ability to reprogram droids, modify a flying droid by pulling it towards you and pressing . There is no need to hold your mechanical assistant during reprogramming and therefore let go. To get the trophy you must kill a stormtrooper, because... When one flying droid destroys another, the trophy does not drop. We hack and simply defend ourselves from stormtroopers, trying not to destroy them by parrying shots, for example.

You will find this improvement for your “pocket robot” on Kashyyyk, where during the quest to free the Wookiees you will find yourself in a room with a droid and two stormtroopers.
In order to have the opportunity to reflash the droid, you need to inflict a certain amount of damage on it (I had about 20-25% left when the button appeared, with the ability to install “new drivers”), I did not touch the stormtroopers in advance and the droid with the new firmware took care of both of them.

If you, like me, moved further into the story after gaining the hacking ability and did not meet the droids, the opportunity will present itself on Ilum, after Cal creates his own lightsaber. Bring the droid to critical condition and press DOWN on the d-pad. After which all that remains is to help the “ally”. Video guide .

I don’t know if it’s a bug or not, but after Kel creates his sword and there is a room with guard droids, hacking the droids didn’t work for me, rebooting the game didn’t help.

Then I found a flying droid, reflected one shot back, and pulled it , hacked , then waited until he killed the enemy

Can be done in the “meditation-training” mode, which opens after completing the story.
Place one stormtrooper and a security robot. You beat the robot until the hacking option appears, press the “down arrow”, hack the robot and it kills the weak stormtrooper.

@xChikitAx this is not a bug. This means that you did not take the improvement for DB1 “hacking security robots” on Kashyyyk. Immediately after you free the Wookiee, you go to an area with three pools. There is a closed door to your right, you need to get behind it and get an upgrade. You can do this by jumping on the ropes above the pool
