How to unlock the Growth Spurt achievement in STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor - Definitive Guide

The garden is on top of the cantina and in order to fully upgrade it you need to plant seeds and wait for them to grow a couple of times.

Before you do that though you will need to recruit the NPC "Pili". You will cross paths with her on the planet Jedha while you are on the objective "Reach pilgrims sanctuary". I believe you have to go past her during the main mission and once you do make sure to stop and talk to her and she will go back to the Cantina.

Now you will also need seeds, and you will find these all over. Especially on the planet Koboh. Whenever you see vegetation with green lights flying around them that is a plant that you can attack with your lightsaber and grab the seeds.

Once you have a decent amount of seeds visit the garden on top of the cantina and plant you first plot of seeds. EVERY HEXAGON MUST BE FILLED IN ORDER TO UPGRADE THE GARDEN. If you are missing even one hexagon the garden will not grow. I recommend filling in the spaces with large plants first, than medium, and then all the ones you are missing plant a small seed in.

Once the first plot is completely filled in, progress through the story or do some exploring. (I'm not sure exactly how much time needs to pass for the plants to grow). Stop back at the cantina and if the plants are fully grown Pili will mention that she has upgraded the garden allowing you to plant more seeds.

Repeat the process again making sure every hexagon is full in the new plots Pili opened up. Double check to make sure.

Progress the story some more and come back and once your plants are fully grown Pili will again mention shes upgraded the farm and the achievement will unlock. (Mine actually unlocked while I was fast traveling back to Koboh.

EDIT: There are some people saying that you need a certain amount of variety to upgrade the garden to the next tier. I was able to do this using the same seeds over and over again. So if you've planted everything in the garden and its fully grown but not upgrading it may be because you need a certain amount of different plants. I did not though.

One other thing to keep in mind is that at least 1 of each species (10 total) of plant need to be fully grown in order to unlock that 4th plot.

I've been stuck since more than 6 hours with this achievement, and now I'm only missing this one. I filled the 3 plots but the 4th does not unlock.
KeybladeOfLight specifies that there are 10 plants, I only have 9 different ones (3 small, 3 medium and 3 large.). What is the 10th plant? Besides, in Shummell's video, I only count 9.

3 hours of play later... I uprooted everything to start all over again. I also planted at least one variant of each plant. You have to wait at least an hour of play for the plant to reach its maximum size. I still don't have a achievement. I ended up going in search of this 10th plant. Indeed there are 10 in total (3 small, 4 medium and 3 large). And the achievement bursts once the plant reaches its maximum size.

yeah I have no idea on this one. I planted stuff in the first garden right when I got it. Then recruited the character later on. Now I am in the cleanup phase of collectibles. I went back and the 2nd garden had opened. Planted stuff in it, mostly stuff called Rare and tried to get as many unique plants in it as possible.

Now ive been getting collectibles about 2 hours later. Fast traveled to some place and the achievement unlocked when I initiated the fast travel

For me the achievement popped after I landed back on Koboh from killing some bounty hunter on another planet. Hadn't collected anything in that trip related to the garden. The reason the achievement popped was because the last of my plants had finished growing, which triggered the 4th plot to unlock.

I had previously heeded the advice of the above commenter, and not filled in every spot, but that wasn't working after many hours. I gave up on that, and just filled the rest in. Filling the rest in, and having them grow, was apparently what it wanted from me. I'd already grown one of every plant way earlier, so that couldn't have been the trigger. The trigger was when I decided to grow a plant in every plot, and they finished growing.

However:
Earlier in the game, it took AGES for the third plot to unlock. I had filled in every plot super early in the game for the first two. What made the third unlock? I went out and collected more seeds. No other changes to my plantings. That was it.

My guess is that a new plot can't unlock if you don't have enough types of seeds. Once you do have enough, it checks to see if you've grown enough plants. Whether that means every spot, I can't say, but for me it did seem to mean that.

I was having quite some trouble with this one as others seem to. Can't say for certain which triggered the achievement, but after having every slot in my first three plots filled, I ended up weeding everything and replanting (one each at least of all 10 unique species of course), and hunting for some of the extra seeds I'd missed out in the wild.

During that time I grew the collection from probably around ~60 seeds to 88/145 (checked on the inventory screen). Seems reaching over 50% completion of the seed collection could maybe be the trigger for unlocking the last plot? Can't say for certain but worth a shot for anyone still struggling with the other tips mentioned here.

I seem to be running into issues with this. I've only got 2 plots unlocked, I can't seem to get the third or fourth to unlock. I'll try pulling up the planets and putting some variety in. Has anyone figured out exactly what the trick is to unlocking more plots? Both of my garden beds are full.

There were 2 plants I hadn’t planted, Fern and Fluff.. I planted both and then quit the game, returned and the Fern had gone back to what was previously seeded. The Fluff was at 2/3 grown and the achievement popped when the game was on idle..

Not sure this helps but I think at some point you need to plant all 10 seeds.

Anyone have the seeds list? I'm missing one medium plant.

I can confirm that I needed to plant all 10 seeds for the last section to unlock. I had 9/10 planted and full gardens. The last area would not unlock after hours of gameplay. I used Powerpyx’s list and found the 10th seed I was missing. I replaced one repeat plant with the new seed. As soon as that fully grew, the achievement unlocked when fast traveling back to Koboh.

The website doesnt have a video, only text and images, but it tells you where to look for each flower and all the different colours if you want to make it pretty. Not sure if its necessary but I filled every space in the garden like some comments said and made sure to plant one of each flower. I wasn't at the garden when the achievement popped but I was on Koboh, it popped when the last flower finished growing. For anyone wondering the reward for unlocking all the plots is a map upgrade that shows you where seeds are. Go figure.

I unlocked the achievement, unintentionally, doing this:

I recruited Pili before planting anything. Then, I completely filled the first garden in one planting session, accidentally planting two of the same small plant. Every other plant was unique. Around an hour later, I returned to the garden. What I had planted was now fully grown and Pili said she upgraded the garden. I now had the original garden plus two more. I did not fill either of the new ones completely, but I did plant some seeds. I went on the mission to rescue someone who was taken from Pyloon’s and returned, unlocking the achievement. This is what I had planted upon unlocking the achievement:

Small:
Spine Fluff: green, yellow (x2), blue, red
Pine Fern: green, yellow, blue
Bluebell Squish: green, blue, red

Medium:
Tuber Maw: green, yellow, blue, pink
Palm Fruit Shell: green, yellow, blue, red
Koboh Spiker: green, yellow, blue
Cactus Ball: green, yellow, red

Large:
Goldenlight Moss: green, yellow, blue, red, pink
Fire Pineapple: yellow
Crimson Jelly Spire: green, yellow, red

Not sure what it means, but that was my experience. The game actually calls pink “Rare” but I wanted to keep it consistent for my own note-taking.

I tried every tip described in this solution and comments. But I could not get this one to unlock. Today patch 6 was released and after I travelled back to Koboh it unlocked immediately.

The achievement wouldn’t unlock for me even after I filled the 3 plots so I took out 2 plants that were overused and put in the last 2 I hadn’t used yet and then I got it along with the final plot. So it may be necessary to use all of the plant types.

Had to use all 10 different types to get this too.

I only needed to fill the first plot and wait for the plants to grow, although i did use at least one of each seed before filling the gaps in in the first flowerbed. The achievement popped a while after planting them all but there's nothing at all planted in my second or third flowerbeds

Plant all 10 plants, let them grow, then be on Koboh for it to unlock.

Also confirming that you need to have one of each seed planted to get this. I had all but the last plot unlocked and everything in the other beds were fully grown. I weeded a few existing plants and started planting different seeds. The achievement popped for me immediately after planting the last seed that I was presumably missing, and the final garden plot unlocked for me at the same time.

How does this solution have so many up votes. Read the comments if you are trying to figure out how to unlock this achievement.

Yes can also confirm you need all 10 seeds to fully grow. This was my last achievement so I had to do a lot of waiting around for stuff to grow so try to do this as soon as you get pili. Achievement unlocked one all 10 unique seeds had fully grown and I was fast travelling to the saloon

I believe having all 10 different seeds planted, and Pili, is all you need. I had all 10 in the first plot, filled the rest full just for something to do really, and didn't have Pili recruited as I wasn't that far in the story. When I recruited Pili, the first time I returned to Koboh, the achievement popped. I never had a chance to plant in other plots, but they are all open now.

I just wanted to add that my garden did not expand by beating the story. My garden only expanded when I had 10 different seeds fully grown in my garden. This is a terrible achievement with a non descript setof requirements to unlock. I hope this helps people unlock it.

As a reward, you get an unlock would have been useful to unlock the acheivement and has almost no value after the fact. Just like the stud fountain in the lego games.

You do not need to fill in every hexagon, not even close. It just seems to be time based. And maybe how many types of seeds you have. When I first discovered the garden before finding Pili I planted one of each type and color of seed I had found up to that point which took up maybe 50% of the first plot. Some time later I came back and a second plot had opened, I can't remember if it was before or after I found Pili. Added some more in the first but still not close to full, planted some in the second but again maybe only 50% full (I put in three large plants), came back some time later and this achievement popped. Never planted anything in the third plot, and like I said first and second plots were nowhere near full.

I planted one of each type and color of seed that I had. My second round of planting I didn't duplicate anything I already had there*, just added the new seeds I had found since the first planting. I am nowhere close to having all the colors, not sure if I have all the different seed types.

So yeah. I wouldn't worry about trying to fill every space. Just make sure you plant every type and give it time.

*I did accidentally destroy one of the original large plants I had put in as I wasn't sure what exactly the "weed" option would do, but I replaced the plant with the same seed.

---

EDIT: I wrote the above after I was done playing last night. Just got back on and made it back to the garden and checked my stats. I have 10 of 10 seed types and 19 of 50 colors. So it definitely seems that the key is finding at least one color of all 10 varieties of plants, not filling every hexagon.

Across Koboh, you’ll find various plant life surrounded by glowing green insects. Cutting through these with Cal’s lightsaber will yield seeds, which can then be planted in the rooftop garden at Pyloon’s Saloon. Recruiting Pili in the Blustery Mesa region of Jedha will enable you to learn more about what you’ve planted, and she’ll help you clear more space to grow stuff. There are ten varieties of Koboh Seed to be grown, and you’ll need to plant them all to unlock this. The ten different Koboh Seeds are the Tuber Maw, Pine Fern, Koboh Spiker, Spine Fluff, Palm Fruit Shell, Fire Pineapple, Cactus Ball, Bluebell Squish, Crimson Jelly Spire, and Goldenlight Moss.

First, recruit Jigsaw on Jedha. Next, talk to her in the Cantina.
Plant plants according to the video guide (en).

It is much easier to collect seeds at night, since the green glow of fireflies is better visible in the dark.

For those who want to search on their own without guides: you need to look for plants (and cut them down with a sword) around which green fireflies fly

So much is said in the tips above, but what you need is:
1) Find and plant at least one plant of all types from the list above;
2) You have only three beds, two of which open after sowing the first one;
3) All the empty space left after the first point can be filled with any seeds;
4) In order not to wait 30-40 minutes for real time, you can simply change the time on the console without leaving the game.
