At the center of Star Wars Outlaws’ general gameplay mechanics is the Syndicate system, where you’ll do work for one of the game’s 4 factions in order to further your status in the world, and importantly, get more credits.

Getting Good or Excellent reputation with the Pyke Syndicate has a few gameplay benefits:

• Firstly, it’ll allow you safe passage into all Pyke Syndicate territories - if you’re in Poor standing or less, you’ll have to sneak in and avoid all guards and what not.
• This will allow you access to that region’s Vendor’s as well.
• If you’re in good stead with a faction, you’ll also get a discount when you shop with them.
• The better your standing, the more access to jobs (i.e. Contracts) you’ll get.
• And finally, you’ll also receive one-time rewards when you climb the ranks for the first time. For instance, the Pyke Syndicate rewards the following rewards as you climb the ranks:
  • Imperial Coating for your Blaster at Good.
  • Pyke Syndicate Crest (Minor Charm) and Ship Parts Bundle for Excellent.
  • Imperial Disguise Tunic, Belt, Trousers and Imperial Chestbox (for Nix) at max rank.

While Syndicate missions will provide the quickest way to boost a Syndicate’s reputation, it’ll also anger other factions in the crossfire. And because there are 4 Syndicate maximum reputation trophies, that’s not ideal. So, the best way to get ahead is Contracts (you need to do 40 for the Honest work  trophy anyway).

Also, as a side note, I know the trophy description says “maximum” reputation, it doesn’t actually mean “maximum.” It means to reach the “Excellent” reputation.

So, all you need to do is get the Pyke Syndicate rank to Excellent once, and the ‘Cut-throat politics’ trophy is all yours.
