Expert Quests in Outlaws are incredibly important, as they’ll allow Kay to tap into more special abilities when she’s met the criteria.
Pretty much all but one of them are given to you naturally and all you have to do is follow them through to their conclusion. They usually start as a piece of “Expert Intel” in your Journal (third from the top) and once you’ve investigated them, they then become an Expert Quest in the main quest rab. Once you’ve finished the quest, you’ll get one free ability, as well as 5 more you can unlock.
The 9 Experts, and when and where you can unlock them, are as follows:
- Bram (The Bartender) - Unlocks automatically.
- Selo (The Speeder Mechanic) - Complete the main quest, “New Tricks,” and then speak to the bartender at the Daruda Diner in Jaunta’s Hope and then follow the clues to Selo and complete “The Speeder Mechanic” quest.
- Aila Bren (The Slicer) - Complete the main quest “New Tricks” and then head back to Mirogana City to Makal’s Gambling Parlour. Listen in on a conversation on the southwest side of the bar and then follow the clues and complete “The Slicer” quest.
- Rooster Trace (The Mercenary) - Speak to the bartender in the Domak Refectory in Kimij City and you can then start “The Mercenary” mission.
- Quint (The Gunslinger) - Once you’ve finished “The Heavy” in Tatooine, a new piece of Expert Intel will pop and send you to the Mos Eisley Cantina to speak to the bartender. Doing this will start “The Gunslinger” Expert quest.
- Teeka (The Hotfixer) - When stranded on Mos Eisley, ND-5 will mention something about a turret for the ship, opening up “The Hotfixer” intel. Follow it to start the mission and then complete it.
- The High Roller - When you get to Myrra on Akiva you’ll have access to “The High Roller” Expert intel. Follow it to unlock “The High Roller” quest and then unlock the High Roller.
- Temmin (The Scavenger) - After completing the main quest, “The Droidsmith” on Akiva, you’ll be introduced to another piece of Expert intel. Follow it to complete “The Scavenger” expert quest and unlock Temmin’s Expert abilities.
- MT-7 (The Veteran) - Last, but by no means least, this is the aforementioned one you’ll have to work for. To kick off this quest you’ll need to collect transmissions in space for this to unlock. It won’t unlock until after you’ve completed “The Heavy,” “The Droid” and “The Safecracker” main quests, though. We’re not sure how many transmissions are needed in truth, as we had all 16 by this point, so you might need them all; you might not. You’ll need to do this for Old school cool anyway, so it’s not a waste of time.
Once you’ve completed your ninth and final Expert quest, the ‘Experience outranks everything’ trophy will unlock.
As a side note, you don’t need to unlock all of the Expert’s abilities to unlock the trophy either, you just need to complete their Expert Quest. Although doing so will make you more powerful, so they’re probably worth doing anyway.
