How to unlock the Think I had a choice? achievement in Star Wars Outlaws - Definitive Guide
As soon as you get to Mirogana, go to the Pyke District and enter the vent to the right of it, leading you in the district. Get caught by someone and the game will load at the entrance with two guards kicking you out.
As soon as you get control, walk/run through the entrance (not the vent, the regular entrance) and they will arrest you again.
Doing so, you will create a loop of trespassing. If you are not fast enough to enter through the entrance again (the time is enough though), just recreate the loop by entering through the vent and get caught.
This needs to be done about 100 times (as the other guide is stating), but it takes roughly 45 minutes or less.
First things first, if you’re wondering whether you can max out all 4 Syndicates and also unlock the ‘Think I had a choice?’ trophy in one playthrough, then yes, you absolutely can.
So, first things first, in order to get this trophy, you need to get a Syndicate’s rank all the way down to Terrible. The best way to do this is choose a Syndicate who you want to go against from the off. We chose to focus all our ire at the Pyke Syndicate. This is for one reason, and that’s that early on there are some main missions where you can really annoy the Pykes, namely:
- Underworld (Main Quest) - At the end of the mission, choose between Elera (Crimson Dawn) and Gorak (Pyke).
- False Flag (Main Quest) - Have two choices with the data at the data vault at the end of the mission: Frame Crimson Dawn (+ Pykes) or Frame the Pykes (+ Crimson Dawn).
- The Traitor (Syndicate Quest) - Take Tizlak to Gorak at the end (Pyke Syndicate boost (and assumed negative effect on Crimson Dawn), or Accept Tizlak’s bribe (Crimson Dawn boost and -3 on Pyke).
With those three mission choices, and you just shooting and annoying Pykes whenever you see them, you’ll be in “Terrible” standing with them in no time whatsoever - and will have unlocked the ‘Think I had a choice?’ trophy.
Now, the challenge here is to get from Terrible all the way up to Excellent (for the 4 max Syndicate reputation trophies), and while Contracts are a decent way to go, the best way is to plan for this from the off.
And the way you do that is simple. Throughout your time in Outlaws you’ll pick up “Syndicate Data,” like for instance, the Beastmaster Journal or Dai Bendu Maps (they appear with disc icons and have a sub-heading of Syndicate Data in your inventory, under Valuables). Once you start getting these, save them.
Then, when you reach Terrible, you’ll want to recover quickly. And the best way to do that is to visit a Pyke Syndicate trader (who’s in a neutral zone, like Hen Puon, the merchant in northeast Mirogana), speak to them and select “Give Data.” Giving over Syndicate Data discs will give you a massive boost in reputation, and hopefully move you out of Terrible and into Bad (or perhaps Poor) in an instant.

The missions/contracts offer the most rep compared to bad deeds but take time as you need to progress through the game so choosing a certain faction to screw over will easily get you that bad rep. Just know you can always increase the rep fast by selling Intel you collect while exploring and progressing to the faction merchants. Good to know if you don't want to reload to an old save and lose a lot of progress.
Doing bad deeds is the long way to getting bad rep. Bad deeds include getting caught while trespassing, shooting at faction members, brawling while being seen, stealing while being seen, and killing faction members, etc... There's probably more but you get the gist. Just know that in order to get the bad rep you must be seen committing the bad deed from another member. Bad deeds do not stack so you will only receive bad rep once no matter how many bad deeds you do at the same time, this is good for story progression as you don't get tanked with bad rep for every faction member you kill but it obviously makes it harder to get this achievement. Once you are caught or get out of sight for long enough after causing a scene you will need to wait for the game to tell you you received bad rep until you can do another bad deed and get more bad rep again.
If you use this method than just know it will take about 100 confirmed bad deeds if you start from the poor reputation all the way to terrible, not exact numbers but it takes a lot to plummet that reputation meter. I found the quickest method was to shoot at a faction member from beyond a gap so they come to the edge and can't follow you and then you hide behind cover or in grass until they lose you, it takes about 30 seconds from the start of shooting them for attention to the point of if you hide right away and they lose sight of you and you get the bad rep. Just know that shooting at them while remaining hidden will make them lose interest in you faster but will not earn you bad rep so make sure they spot you before hiding, they will shoot at you if they spot you and not shoot if they didn't. It took about an hour of doing this before I got the bad rep to terrible.
