How to unlock the Never tell me the odds achievement in Star Wars Outlaws - Definitive Guide
Now, there’s two ways to do this, but they both require the same setup. Firstly, though, choosing where to go for this is important, because we’ll be using the environment in and around space to our advantage. So, choose somewhere with a load of ship debris and/or floating rocks - we did it in Kijimi’s orbit. They’ll be our killing blow… although you could use mines too.
Right, as for the setup, firstly it’s best if you have a decent ship with good shields here, as the strategy is all about baiting them. What we did was find 3 pirate ships wandering the galaxy and we aggro’d them. Then, we’d try to get all 3 down to a sliver of health - the reason we did 3 was to improve our odds of getting this one - and then we baited them into an area with a load of asteroids, mines and space debris.
Finally, the tricky bit, and like I said, you can do it 2 ways:
- Firstly, try and get one of the ships to chase you as you weave in and out of the debris and rocks. If it hits the rocks and dies, ding, ding, ding, you win. We found locking on with the rockets (but not firing them) really can spook them too and make them fly unpredictably.
- Secondly, and perhaps the trickier one of the two strategies, is to try and collide with an enemy ship. Don’t fire at it, don’t do anything, just ram it. This is easiest if you can bait them into a head on firefight - which is why we said have a fully upgraded Trailblazer - and then just don’t pull out of the game of chicken. It sounds tricky, but it’s possible.
If it’s any help, we did number 1 quite easily, but have since done number 2 on our travels across space and time. So, drag a weak lil’ pirate into some heavily populated asteroid fields and bait them into killing themselves.Do that and you’ll net the ‘Never tell me the odds’ trophy in the process.
