How to unlock the Heavy Hitter achievement in STAR WARS: Squadrons - Definitive Guide

Hopefully this achievement is relatively straight forward. If you're having trouble make sure you've equipped the right auxiliary (proton bombs) and make sure you're dropping them when you see the green downwards arrow icon that flashes when you're right above an enemy capital ship. You need to drop them either on an unshielded capital ship, or by flying under the blue shield and dropping them then. They need to land on undamaged sections of the ship as well, as it won't count if they're dropping on an already destroyed section.

This game is dead, I can not find any ranked matches and most of the communities I found for this game are no longer active. cry Sadly this game is underrated and very skipped on despite its many great features.

Tell me about it. I pop on maybe once a month to see if there's any population. Loved this game

For this achievement you'll want to use either the Tie Bomber or Y-Wing, with proton bombs equipped (can't confirm if Ion bombs count).

The achievement description is slightly off, as I can confirm that Imperial cruisers count, so I would assume Republic frigates count too.

With bombs equipped, fly over cruisers/frigates and capital ships and drop them below the shields, as I don't think they count unless they deal hull damage. When bombing capital ships, be sure to drop them on undamaged areas of the ship (not on fire), or target the subsystems (hold LT, down with LS to select "Flagship systems") and you can see how much health each system has. Attacking shield generators first would mean you don't have to fly under the shields for the rest of the game. You can only carry 5 proton bombs at a time, so you'll need to fly back to your cruiser/frigate to resupply after every salvo.

Good luck, and please up vote if this was helpful.
