How to unlock the Greenhorn achievement in Stardew Valley - Definitive Guide

Once you have earned a total of 15000 gold you will get this achievement.
You do NOT have to have 15000 gold on you to spend.

A fast way to earn gold is to grow crops, selling the produce (i suggest keeping a few of all different crops) and buying new seeds and starting over again.

Remember that most crops only grow in a certain season (spring, summer, fall) and each season lasts 28 days so plan accordingly. When buying seeds at the store it will say how many days it takes for them to be ready for harvest.

Another tip is using a fertilizer (unlocks at lvl 1 in farming) that gives the chance for better quality produce that will sell for more gold. It will show up in your crafting menu when available (uses 2 sap) but you might be able to buy some in the store too.

Also, dont forget to put up a scarecrow to...yeah, the name says it all. It will protect your crops 8 blocks in each direction (circle).

Later on when you can, wine is a good income.

Hope that helps a bit and good luck!

There is currently a cheat/bug/exploit where if you set your name to be certain characters, then whenever your name is said you will receive items. You could potentially earn over 300 million in one day, and tackle the JoJa achievement at the same time. I do recommend doing this on a completely separate save though (your "JoJa save" as it's incredibly game breaking.

This video demonstrates what you need to do - it is not my video.

In case the video gets pulled, start a new save, set your name to be [163][166]. The rest doesn't matter. You can use other numbers to get different items but there's just no point as your name isn't changeable in game.

Once you've started, head over to the Saloon and wait for it to open at 12:00, then enter and speak to Gus. After he says hi, immediately speak to him again.

Upon doing so, a large fish and a treasure chest - the two most valuable sellable items in the game at 5000G each, will suddenly appear in your inventory. Keep pressing A to spawn more (the video shows 1 spawn after each button press + Gus speaking to you each time, but for me I just received 4 per button press). You can fill up your inventory completely with three sets of 999 of each item, take it back to the chest in your house where you sell stuff, then head to bed to sleep. You will then receive enough money to get the 1 mil and 10 mil achievement, which in turn will give you enough money to buy everything in JoJa and get that out the way. Repeat visits are completely unnecessary as you'll have enough anything to buy literally everything multiple times over.

This may be patched in the future (to which I'll try to remember to remove this guide).

There is no need to focus on this achievement as it should be obtained by just playing the game. However, to ensure high profitability, make sure to plant:

Spring: Potatoes, Cauliflower, Kale (All highly profitable; buy in bulk what you can afford)
Summer: Blueberries
Fall: Cranberries

NOTE
This achievement is related to:
Cowpoke: Earn 50,000g
Homesteader: Earn 250,000g
Millionaire: Earn 1,000,000g

This is cumulative, and very simple.

Starting in Spring you should farm potatoes. They take 6 days to grow and sometimes give multiple potatoes. In the mean time try doing quests or scouring the map for items.
When your harvest comes in sell it and buy even more potato seeds to plant.
Combined with all the items you proably gained which are sellable you should get this trophy before the 20th day.

Notes:
*Don't forget to water your plants
*Buy a scarecrow ASAP. It protects a radius of 8 squares around it from birds.
