In COOP, repair your partner after they get shot down

How to unlock the Helping Hand achievement in Starlink: Battle for Atlas - Definitive Guide

I did this with a secondary controller, join from the menu as Coop and play digitally. The local coop player will get the same ship and weapons that you have in use on the primary controller.
Get into a fight, let them rip your second player, and then heal him after he's down.

Weird, i dont recall if that message was there, but try to ignore and go for heal anyway. Its likely it will just be something for the other player.
Unless the game has been patched or bugged somehow, I dont see how they would prevent coop players to heal each other.

If you check you mini-map while the second player is down (has the replace ship screen displayed) you will see a blue ship icon, you'll get a repair prompt when near this, once you've held cn_X to repair them the achievement will unlock.

Pause > Gameplay > Change difficulty to hard...
Watch co-op partner burn!
Pause > Gameplay > Change difficulty to easy and roll in for the repair.

Pops immediately following repair.

Geordiedeviant, awesome advise thank you. Playing on easy even the Prime can't damage the co-op ship.

I've been sat here trying to do this with a second controller, but every time I repair the Co-op ship, it doesn't unlock

I've had enemies destroy the ship countless times, I've turned off friendly fire and destroyed the ship myself, but nothing seems to work...

I don't know what I'm doing wrong

Just so everyone knows since it doesn’t say anywhere on the TA page or any guides, there is no online co-op for this game. Has to been done locally, but you only need a 2nd controller, no 2nd account required

Hi, I've tried doing this with a secondary controller but when my "add-in" bites it, the only option is to replace the ship. I try to stay far enough away so my main controller ship doesn't take any fallout damage, but I remain close enough to stay paired. Clearly, I'm doing something wrong. Please advise, Thanks!

Attach a second controller to enter co-op mode. Physical players don't need an additional controller mount (although these are available to buy) or toy ship and can use the digital versions of their unlocked ships and weapons.

For this achievement, let one player get completely destroyed by an enemy, and then have the other player fly over and repair them by holding button-x.png (as you would do with AI ships like Explorers or Vigilantes).

A second controller is required as there is no online co-op in the game. For the physical version of the game, a second figurine is not needed, just select play digital when connecting a second controller.

Next, your task is simple, you need your partner’s ship to be killed by enemies, then fly up to him and hold when the opportunity arises. Once the ship is repaired, you will receive this trophy. The easiest way to die is to take the ship to the lair of the imps, they will break it quickly enough. Well, or you can turn on “friendly fire” in the game settings and shoot the second ship yourself.

Also note that all cooperative trophies are received only by the first player in the game; the second account will not receive the trophy.
