EDIT October 1st 2022: As far as I'm aware the first 3 karts (Adventure, Electric, & Diving) which are free do not count towards the achievement.

There are issues with buying the bundles that can lock you out of this achievement and potentially this achievement:

The Who's the Boss? achievement in Starlit Kart Racing worth 123 points8 cups played!

If you actually want to go forward and get this achievement, I strongly suggest doing this achievement last, after you've unlocked everything else to avoid the known glitching of getting locked out of the achievements for purchasing bundles/karts/cups/etc.

But currently, it does REQUIRE you to buy karts to hit the 16/16 kart requirement which is $10 for the "Special Combo" one time purchase.

I haven't played through the Challenges yet, but it does give you free items such as exhausts, paintings, gold so maybe it could give a kart? If anyone has made it far in the rankings and can let me know, i'll update.

EDIT September 9th 2022: Someone has confirmed that the achievement will unlock, but you still have to unlock the karts legitimately in order for it to count towards the Mission. Thanks @Crazy Nikos 78 for the confirmation!

To unlock this achievement you'll have to own all 16 karts. As of right now you can play naturally and unlock 13 of the 16. I am not entirely sure if they plan on adding more "free" karts in the future, but there are 4 buyable karts priced at $5.99 each.

Bomber Kart - 720 Green Tokens
Archer Kart - 480 Green Tokens

Flying Kart - 720 Green Tokens
Paco - 960 Green Tokens
Muu - 960 Green Tokens
Baba - 960 Green Tokens
PeoPeo - 960 Green Tokens
Dodo - 960 Green Tokens (Play with a friend in VS and after the race is over, you unlock Dodo for free!)
Buna - 960 Green Tokens
Pikke - 960 Green Tokens

This is a FTP game; if you are not interested in buying any green tokens & gold gems, there is a "free" option, but it does have a cooldown. You can check this by hitting

and move to the right to check the offers.

Daily Free Rewards

20 Green Tokens - 11hrs
1000 Gold Gems - 7hrs

Daily Logins Rewards - Be sure to hit "Cup" (You don't have to race, it's just to get to the rewards)

100 Green Tokens - Day 7th
1000 Gold Gems - Days 1-6

You can claim green tokens by completed specific missions found in the "Missions" tab by hitting

. You can get a total of 785 Green Tokens from Missions, although some are tied to the 600cc which I believe you have to pay for.

You can also do the "Bosses" which will reward you Green tokens [u]Only Once for each of the difficulties you choose:

150cc - 25 Green Tokens
300cc - 42 Green Tokens
600cc - 59 Green Tokens

Lastly, winning Cups awards you 24 Green Tokens in 150cc while you get 40 Green Tokens in 300cc. I believe you also get a bonus 10 Green Tokens every time you level up as well.

Does anyone know if you buy all the karts with real money it will unlock the achievement? Or even if you buy half the karts with real money and get half the karts thru natural progress, will it unlock? Nice guide by the way.

@FF Square Enix Thanks, I appreciate it! I'm not too sure about the buying the karts with actual money. I know some gamers are having issues with a bug (for the 8 cups achievement not popping) so I would say approach with caution! You'd save an incredible amount of time for those kart-related achievements that's for sure lol Cheers!

Thanks for your info, I think I will hold off for a bit till someone can confirm as I wanted to buy half the karts with money and then play naturally for the rest, don't mind spending money on a kart game as I love them, even the crap ones, lol.

@HeNDRY 1985 As far as I know, racing and getting your daily/hourly are the main 2 that will help you organically get these. I've unlocked a few karts so far, but it is unfortunately it takes the structure of some FTP games where unless you purchase in-game currency, the game will be a grind (much like a game like Gems of War, etc). The "free" gems they give in the daily/hourly is really not much, but it's something I guess lol

If u buy a bundle that gives an unlockable with green token cars for free, then it glitches. I got the bundle that made paco unlocked. It has glitched on me

@Gutsy Goddess I really hope they patch the game because the bundles seem to either glitch the game, mess up the mission tracker, and/or makes you still legitimately get the karts that aren't purchased w/ actual money. :(

I don't think you can even get this achievement without paying money. Iv not spent a penny an grinded enough green tokens to get all but 3 of the karts but it says i only own 10 / 16 needed in my missions. The problem is i don't think the first 3 karts you start with count. i made a 25 second clip in my profile if i haven't explained myself properly if you want to check, you should see what i mean.
...im so done with this game :(

I think the free rewards are 12 hours for tokens and 8 hours for gems. It says 11 hours, but it means 11 hours 59 minutes.

@HeNDRY 1985 it is quite the grind! It is free to play but it definitely has the model of suggesting you pay to feel like you progress faster. From what I can tell the first 3 don't count as you don't technically "purchase" them with the tokens. I had to take a break because of my milestone (200k yay!) but now going to be back on that grind for the 100% for this game.

I now have all 16 karts from the list above and 81% progress on the achievement. Hopefully they will give us the opportunity to unlock the other karts by playing. I spent about €15 on the game as I really enjoyed it, but I definitely won't spend more just to get the achievement.

@Jay7Seven Someone said there should be a patch Oct 15th, so hopefully they fix a lot of the issues people are having with unlocking achievements after purchases as well other bugs. The game is honestly decent for a racing game, but I agree. Its a bummer having to spend money to get karts just for the achievement

Achievement unlocked when all 13 carts were unlocked with tokens. I have never been billed.
I don't think this is normal behavior, but I'll include it for reference.

Am I correct, that you don‘t receive more tokens after you completed the cups? As on bosses, I did one just before which I completed already and didn‘t get any tokens.

Edit: So I just did the first cup on 600cc (free pass today) twice back to back now. The first time I got 56 tokens, the second time I got 66 tokens.

@FF Square Enix "Pretty sure I made this unobtainable for myself by buying the Unlock all Cups Now! bundle.. All my "Play Cups" missions only display 3 completed despite having raced in them all. I completed 3 cups prior to buying it. :( - Azzrik" -- I would say definitely be cautious. Just saw this gamer comment on a different guide. Not sure if this holds true for the karts.

may i ask, does anybody have a better way of getting this achievement than playing Parallel Peaks at 300cc over an over for someone whos completed the specific missions and refuses to pay for green tokens? ...lord plz. I should add what iv learnt, if you claim all your free exhausts an hats from daily log ins you start to get free Gems for 4 days then 100 Tokens every 5th day. ..iv been grinding a few weeks myself lol

@ArcadeFrenzy - As far as I know, there isn't a way to unlock it legitimately. Someone said they reached out to the devs and there was going to be a patch/update, but haven't heard much since then :/ I've played the whole thing without having to spend money, but now i'm at the last achievement for the last 2 karts. I haven't played it since then in hopes that they would add at least 2 more free karts but that's naively hopeful lol I suggest people using microsoft points to get the $10 pack as an alternative to spending your actual $10

To reduce the grind you can unlock dodo for free without having to waste 960 tokens...

Plug in a second controller, select versus mode, players only, 1 lap, 1 race and simply win the race, you dont need to race with the second controller as the timer will run out and you will automatically finish 2nd place and therefore both players achieving a podium finish, takes no more than a couple of minutes.
