In order to actually host a game rather than just joining a random match, (from either the main menu or during a solo game) look under settings -> multiplayer -> enable the 'Host Multiplayer Game' slider.
After you've enabled the host multiplayer game slider, go to the Daybreak menu and select 'Start Daybreak'. After the solo match has begun, click start -> settings -> multiplayer -> Daybreak - enable matchmaking. This will allow other players that are searching for a random match to join your game.
The achievement should unlock after other player(s) join your game (no need to actually play the match for this achievement).

Have someone join your game. This appears to now be Host Only. Much easier now that this is a title update and not DLC.

This only unlocked for me when I was host and not when joining others games

The description on the console has changed and now says you have to be the host.
