I totally advise against bringing Quincy & Elena/Larisse & Fionna to the final battle to avoid risking their deaths.
During your normal playthrough recruit as much survivors as you can, SPECIALLY Captain Logan as he got the better stats of the bunch. I did the final battle with Logan and a random survivor who wasn't either of the two starters. Just leave your two main survivor at home and farm around 30 to 50 bloater glands beforehand to get enough plague-busters for your final run.
Achievement will unlock as long as your two starters are alive regardless of being active in your party or not.

In my game it's QUINCY & HELENA. No Elena. Maybe some games have an Elena.

Finished this just now and no achievement, didn't get the achievement for finishing it solo either, any ideas welcome
