After finishing the tutorial, you have to find a place to make a safe house. Once you clear it, explore and either find a vehicle, or a gas can for your original vehicle. I had a rucksack spawn inside my vehicle, if you don't, search containers and house until you do. Then transfer it from your inventory to the car boot by walking to the back of the vehicle and then transferring it. Drive the car to the parking spot marked with a large "P" outside your safe house. Exit the vehicle and walk to the back and open the trunk. You will see an option to transfer straight to the safe house. Do this (RT I believe), and the achievement will pop.

Yeah there isn't a "big P" it's just orange lines with a blue sign that has a white car symbol on it.

should clarify that you need to open the trunk of the car first, then press RT to transfer to base. i was wondering around at the back of the car for 10 minutes looking for the popup command.

I want to note that the indicator that tells you what vehicle you're driving and shows you the fuel level must say "Parked" for this to work. You might think you're in the parking spot without actually being "Parked," and conversely, you can sometimes be near the base and be Parked when you aren't in what looks like a parking spot.

What type of area did you start in? I started in the Plateau area and I don’t think that starting base has a parking spot. I could just be blind I’ll check later when I can.
